I have a bunch of Zwickey's with the bleeder blade I'm going to hunt them this year. How in the Heck do you sharpen that little bleeder! I might just cut the thing off.

I use a file to sharpen them. I have a bunch that I just snapped them off to eliminate them.

A mill file and a steel will work fine. You have to be patient and use the right angle for the cut. Or, rather than cut the bleeders off, trade them to someone for ones without.

I use a needle file set I got from Wally World. 6 comes in a red vinyl pack. I then use a Smiths diamond steel (it looks like a pencil. (The diamond steel is needle shaped and retracts into the handle) They can be a little aggravating to sharpen. Of course you can always snap them off or trade them to someone like me!

I just run them back and forth on the edge of a big sharpening stone.

Stone, fine grain, and a file. Set the file on a 2x4, edge up, and run the mounted head down the file. Then switch sides.

I grind them off.

I always used a file and a stone, just like the main blades.

Get rid of them. Use it as a 2blade. I do like GDS said- trade for what you want with somebody who wants what you have.

chainsaw file followed by a small "pocket" whetstone

Extremely easy to sharpen as others have demonstrated/offered. Always puzzles me why folks would buy/trade for 4-blade heads and lop off the bleeders rather than just buy/ trade for two blade heads to begin with.

Dremel tool then a fine stone. I quit buying them and stick to two blade.

Some of us get the 4 blade heads passed onto us. In my case I have left over new stock from my dad's archery shop. Life isn't always just cut and dry.

Would be better if they were 1-8-1/4” longer for sure

Get a 6" flat chainsaw file. Hold the arrow, with head mounted, pointing toward you. Gently file the bleeder blade pushing the file away from you. Equal number of strokes per side. The trick is matching the angle and not pushing hard or the file will catch and slide. They don't have to be razor sharp either. Butcher knife sharp is good. You can file all sorts of blades with that kind of file.

I've always filed mine,I found a small file kit at Harbor Freight.I just use one of the smallest files in the kit.

Stopped using the ones with the bleeders.

Geez don't trade them or break the blade off those are good heads . Just sharpen like the advise on here try different ways and you'll come up with something that works . When I used them I just file sharpened the bleeder . I used to buy the 2 blade cut slots in the ferrell and insert a large bleeder blade made from steel banding ,man what a hole and blood everywhere !!
