Last week I was fortunate enough to have the high bid on this beautiful York static tip yew longbow. I sincerely hope I didn’t outbid someone here on the LW! It’s the perfect addition to my old yew bow collection.I have no plans to shoot it, but will display it in my dining room. I showed the bow to Jay St Charles and he remarked that it’s the first and only yew bow he has seen marketed by York. These pictures don’t do it justice. If anyone has York history they can share, please do. This bow was made by a bowyer that knew his way around a wood bow. The leather and cordage wrap are in excellent condition and it doesn’t appear to have very many arrows shot from it. The bow is stamped 5’6” and 40#. Jay and I concur that the bow is most likely to have been made in the 1940’s. Thanks for looking. Lance

Very sharp. Is that hickory or silk backed yew sapwood or just yew? It’s very rare, regardless. I’m always on the lookout for an American Archery Yew longbow.
