Badgers are pretty secretive. Tough to get a pix of one, much less a good pix like yours. Well done.

Have never seen a live one in the area I live. Saw one that was roadkilled once.

I made a side quiver with one. Impressive critters. And that's a handsome one in your pictures there.

Cool pic! Seeing quite a few roadkill on 80 this year. Had one call my bluff once.... those critters are serious when they get mad! Matthew

I was bowhunting Vernon Co. WI. a few years ago and sitting on a bluff at O dark thirty. The forest there is all old Oaks adjacent to wild fields and the soil is mostly sandy. I hears rustling of dry leaves and suddenly a badger ran down the point of the bluff I was sitting on right across my feet! I could have touched him with my arrow point. Anyhow, I never related this event to any hunting friends because it sounds so unlikely. This was the first and only Badger I have ever seen in the wild. I also have a place in Langlade Co. where I am told there is a population of these critters, But as yet haven't seen one. Although I did have an ermine take up residence with me one winter, often sat in the livingroom watching Jeremiah Johnson with me, but that is another story...

I saw one once on my way to a deer stand here in WI. The only animal I've seen that when he turned and looked at me, he just stared at me like I was bothering him. No fear in it at all. Then it just turned back around and started digging again.

My crazy ass, ex brother in law caught one in the ditch and threw it in his truck...the cab.... drove home about 30 miles in a Toyota reg cab with a pissed offed badger under the seat. Ever remove a truck seat with a Badger under it???? The back bolts were the scariest, you had to stick your whole arm under to reach it. I’ll save the rattlesnake stories for later.
