How many deal this every fall? It happens here several times through the late summer into November.

Yep. Same thing happens to my targets out back.

Worse though was when I lived in northern PA. My buddy had a 30 Target course set up all summer and the bear tore them up pretty often. He started dousing them with kerosene or antifreeze or something and that helped some.

Good thing they are skeered of people, otherwise we hunters might look like Swiss cheese more often.

I’ve never tried decoying deer but that is motivation enough to start!

Yeah, just don't 'wear' the decoy...

What I want to know is how you got the pic, was it being used as a decoy? Or wait maybe the deer have wised up and are now putting "hunter cams" at 3D targets so they know who to be on the lookout for......

I,ve had a few 3d bucks attacked. Got the head torn off one completely awhile back during the rut. During the summer it seems that deer like to feed around my deer targets. I think they feel more at ease..

I gave up having one because of it.

saw a vidieo once where a mother cougar was using a 3-D deer to teach her cubs how to kill (I think it was a vidieo or maybe a trail cam pict ) been awhile

I had trouble with my buck target getting knocked over.

Simple solution.........I took the antlers off.

You would think Deer would be smarter than that

Happens to mine, and I don't exactly live in the country, although it isn't in town, either. Broke the rack, and took a big chunk out of the chest. By early September, I'm going to start covering mine with a big "bag" stitched from a folded tarp. Maybe that will stop any further destruction.

I had this problem a couple years then found just take off one antler, but they demolished my antelope target literally broke in half and I'm in Missouri never touched the bear or caribou targets? My 150" glendel was in 3 pcs scattered. Makes one think about decoying! Ben

Yup, I learned to take my 3d bucks inside in the fall to keep them together in one piece.

Our local archery club has a couple damaged by a bear every summer. It chews off the ears and noses or stands on the backs and breaks them.
