Since the Ski Lift died what is your favorite course at Denton Hill and if you want to say why go for it. Thought it would be nice for newbies that are going. For me it is where they combined the lower end of the Ridge Runner/Eastern course with the lower end of the Canadian course, then it crosses the hollow, and comes out on the beginning of the Ironman course. I like it because you have some set up longer down hill shots (which are fun), it is just a beautiful course, and well laid out. Wish I could remember what the new course number is, but I don't. 2nd choice is the new Western course. DANNY

Tough question to answer, but I will put forth "IronMan" Starts out iron, bull elk, treed turk, 3 little pigs, bear/grill/toilet, across the valley. Throw in it always downpours rain on the steep descent.

All of them !

I like them all,but my favorite is Cardiac. Won’t be making it this year due to shoulder replacement surgery. Will be there next year.

Don't give up on the ski lift. I just read online a report prepared for the PA state parks a proposal to renovate Ski Denton. So......maybe.

Google DCNR unveils Denton Plans and read all about it....one new ski lift but larger than either of the current ones as well as plans for year-round usage. The public presentation was made at the Denton ski lodge.

Cardiac is my favorite. Not much wait time and targets are set at reasonable ranges.

I always hated that chair lift. I been stranded a couple times.

Then when it rains and it usually does some where along the stay and you slide down hill that's dangerous and with your custom bow and custom arrows your afraid of breaking or losing that's the part I don't like.

Cardiac when I was strong and younger rules. Aint for the unhealthy that's for sure.

I seem to prefer Elm Hollow. Nice reasonable course to navigate around. I love the ski lift and hope they do get one going again.

Cardiac. Mostly because its steep and gets less traffic! TLM

Baby Doc. If you carry a doggy doo bag and pick up, all should be dog friendly

There must be a bunch of trolls here. So many votes for Cardiac. I do not think I have every seen ANYONE on it, going on it, or coming off it.

The Western ( If my memory is correct ) It is a long way up without the lift but the first target as you start back down is a long downhill shot at a deer. There is a level spot about 20 yards before the stake that I always try a shot at. Makes for great arrow flight watching!

I haven't shot all of the courses since they changed. I do really like the one that winds around, through and between all the Vendor tent/activity areas.

I shop, trade, watch the events, seminars and hang out more than I shoot anymore. I am there for only one day though.

Nine Mile

I like them all but the Canadian with all of the ferns is my favorite. Concerning the ski lift, I wish it still worked. For many of hte older guys, getting up the mountain is difficult. I would not be surprised that someone dies of a heart attack on one of the courses. This will be the first year AI have missed going to Denton Hill in a long time. I will miss being there.

Iron man. A very nice course and it's cool when it's hot out.

Michael,

It is more than likely because you avoid the entrance to the course :'), is why you never see anyone starting it.. It is a really good course and the climb is not as bad as the start of the New Western course. We always shoot it first thing Thursday Morning. I think coming down it in spots is worse than going up it. Have ended up on my gluteus maximus more than once coming down that hill. For some reason NO ONE wants to be in front me when the course reverses to go down. Might have something to do with I am always saying "Catch Me". DANNY

I like the change they made to Nine Mile, however, my favorite is Cardiac Ridge, for the challenge and the low traffic it sees. It really is not as bad as the reputation it has been given but let's keep that a secret.

We shot the Cardiac course last year. It was Dads choice and he was 83.

I like them all, my all time favorite was the western course when the chair lift worked. That elk on that bench in the pines, favorite target shot.

Another vote for Cardiac, never crowded. Love Iron Man if we have a lot of time to kill.

Yessir, us old farts still like the Cardiac course and can still climb it even with our bellies and slouched appearance. ;)

I'm not sure when Mike's lease is up with the State Parks, but if he isn't leasing the park when the modifications take place, the shoot won't be there anyway. He has said in the past that he has other land to use, so without knowing his situation, the talk about a working ski lift may not apply to the shoot anyway.
