Strange question but does seem to matter because Bear offers 2 sizes and some custom builders do also. thanks Steve

Id guess that depends on how long of a bow you want Bear also differs the length of there limbs,,#1-#2-#3 When i shot recurves i liked an A riser with #2 limbs for 58" over all And i draw 27" on recurves A guy with a longer draw might not like a bow that short A good friend is a Bear TD nut but prefers a B riser with #1 limbs with a 28" draw

19 is the best hunting riser. 60, 62. 64 lengths can be had in ILF.

Well Steve depends om what I am using the bow for, target or hunting. Even hunting it will vary depending on the area the bow has to work in. Guess my answer would be the longest I can get by with for maneuverability hunting. 17-19" and long ILF limbs for 29.5" draw.

21 inch ILF risers. Bowyers (as in un-ILF-bowyers. I'm sure that's the first time anyone ever used that word) don't really have standard lengths. What I mean by that is I have a Morrison Shawnee that has a 14 inch riser which I think most would consider short. Yet the bow is 64 inches long.

I prefer a 13 ILF riser, long limbs, makes a 58" bow.

ILF seems very popular. I was talking mostly about regular TDs. I have a A mag 56" Bear B mag 60",and a wood B 60". I dont have a long draw so I can see where some need a longer riser or a short riser with very long limbs. I have some new #3 Bear limbs but not a riser (saving my soda pop money lol) I want a A riser I think the more limb the better but Im not a expert. thanks for info! Steve

Riser length is mostly irrelevant in most cases. What matters is the working length of the limbs. To correctly measure riser length on a non ILF bow you have to include the measurement of the fadeout that extends beyond the limb bed.

A bow with a short "riser" or handle can still have short working limbs due to the length of the fade outs.

14", Zipper Nitro or SXT

I like my Bear Kodiak Takedowns with a B-riser ( 18" ) and #1 limbs for a 60" bow.

I hunt solely from the ground.

A 19" is my favorite.

I am really like 19” ILF riser with long limbs. 64” recurve.

I dunno. I'm not sure I go along with the more limb the better idea. In a 60-inch bow, I like the B riser and no.1 limbs better than the A riser and no.3 limbs. Physically, it's a bit heavier, also a bit quicker, IMO. Difference is quite small though.

Friends what reference point are you measuring from on a Bear TD?

From: Tal McNeill

19" for all-around use...hunting, 3D, etc. 25" for target. If I could only own one bow (yikes!) it would be on a 19" ILF riser.

With my longer draw length, I like the 19" Bear B mag riser with #3 limbs (64" bow) and the 24" Bear C mag and wood riser with #2/#3 limbs (68" and 70" bow).

I like the 19 the most as well.
