I bought a Hill “Tembo” and wondered if any of you guys could give me some info on it. It has TLK70351 and marked 50@28. Mainly wondered who and when it was made.

Why don't you call or email Craig Ekin and ask him? He's a great guy, and probably nobody else is really goin to be able to tell you.

Well your bow was made between 1977-1982 probably closer to 1982, by Lee Kramer. Here is how you break down the serial # T= Tembo model; LK= Lee Kramer; 70= the length 70"; 351 is the 351st bow made by the Kramers. Great bow should give you many years of enjoyment.

They may. But those bows have been made by so many different bowyers, for so many years that it isn't likely. I'd say if anybody would know it would be Bob Burton.

My GUESS is that the TLK designates that it was made by Ted and Lee Kramer. But I'm no expert.

Tembo by the late lee Kramer. Hang on to that one, it’s a goodie.

I liked the way the Kramers tillered the limb. The ones that have had had a nice roundness to them and they were very accurate. My new Sunset Hill has that as well.

I know a Hill will shoot very well and very forgiving and be a companion Bow with a life of shooting and then another in the hands of your Sons.

The thing you will need to learn about a Hill is not about the speed but about the grip.

Learn to shoot it inside the lifeline and off the edge of your hand with a loose grip and it will NOT kick you like so many proclaim.

If you learn this one thing, you will be deadly to the game!

If you have not yet, watch this. The talking parts are more important that the shooting parts, even though the shooting parts are critical. If you think the bow may have a bit more thump than you like, contact Chad at Champion Bowstrings. I like to see pictures of older Hills. If the shoot like Hill or John seems like something you would like to do, keep it simple and do not add anything or take away anything from the video. In a few weeks it will all come together, if you don't ty to change it up every day.
