Hello! Heads up on a couple of very useful items for your hunting pack. For a few years now I’ve been using these Mora Companion knives and an inexpensive Lansky carbide/ceramic sharpener. With a few licks on the ceramic it is shaving sharp. I’ve done numerous moose, elk, deer, and bear with these. It can be quickly resharpened in about 20 seconds. The fluorescent colors make them easy to find laying on the ground or in a gut pile... And it seems they are nearly indestructible after all the abuse they have seen. I picked these knives up today at a local store for $17.99cdn ($13.69usd)each. (Good to have a few extras around our n each pack and vehicle.) The sharpener was about $5.00 on sale at a big box outdoor store. I appreciate my fancier and more expensive (custom) knives, but for the sake of utility these are hard to beat.

I have the light my fire and my son has the bushcraft- hard to imagine a better value on the market than a Mora.

Lanskys are great too, I use one in conjunction with my Rada

Since I first found Mora's a few years ago, they are about all I use. A lot of bang for the buck there!

Mora's are REALLY cool knives. I have several of different styles. Don't think I paid over 15-20 bucks for any of them. Usually less. A few strokes on a ceramic rod and they are just wicked sharp. Sharpest knives I have ever owned. These are the knives you need to be very careful with. One slip and they will cut you to the bone. Very good knives.

George, if you're going to brag on our memories of cop shows that folks on here were possibly conceived while their parents were watching, tell about when Sgt. Joe Friday kept witnesses to the point with "just the facts, m'am"!

I bought a couple and absolutely love them. I have some really nice knives that are sharp as can be but yet I always seem to pull the mora to doany gutting. Truely a wonderful quality inexpensive knife.

I bought this one a couple of days ago for $15 at an antique store. It does however pre-date the OP’s by a few decades. I still have to sharpen and clean it up some and get rid of the tape residue on the birch handle. Good knives! Lance

Don't forget Highway Patrol. I sure wish you fellas would quit posting things, now looks like I'm going to buy a new knife.lol

I wish they would resume producing the "triflex" blades. I bought a few while they were still at a reasonable price. Many of the newer Mora blades are less than 4", too bad, and grip designs have moved to a hard, rather than soft material.

If you see a knife you like, buy it now, production runs are not guaranteed to continue.

George if your referring to Cagney and Lacey that show was on in the 1980s. :) "lol"

Accusharp will put a shaving edge on those cheap moras with just a couple strokes. Great knives

Great knife for sure. I use a basic stainless $9 and a subtract orange which I can not find. Best two knives I own when it really comes down to it. My helle is classy and works well but not any better as a tool and cost was 140 more than basic. Don't understand your sharpening method are you putting a second edge on. I just use a pocket stone in the field works great and the pocket stone will throw a spark with the carbon blades if need be. I hope I never need it to be.

I put a second bevel on mine with the accusharp, faster to sharpen and more durable.

Moras are the best knife bargain going. I' ve bought a lot and given them to all the family and grandkids. Great for party gifts or graduation. But I trade out that plastic sheath on my personal knives for ones I make or a couple of that were purchased and cost more than the knife. I have better skinning knives, but it seems the Mora is the one that is always on my belt.

I love Mora knives. They are definitely worth more than you pay for them.

I have used a Mora Clipper on 5 elk and a deer. My Buck now stays in the pack as a backup. Just wish they would offer a nice sheath as a option. The Clipper has a carbon steel. Super easy to sharpen and it stays sharp for an entire elk. Amazing value.
