A BIG Thanks to Elk111(Nate) PM’ing me about a bow up for auction, I was able to snag a 1953?Dual Shelf Bear Polar off eb@y. This it to replace my ‘56 Bear Polar that broke last month. It was my favorite bow so far. I lucked out as there wasn’t any other bidders. Suppose to be here Thursday...looking forward to giving it a good clean up, strike plates ( maybe a grip)and a new string. I did buy it sight unstrung which I swore I’d never do again, but the seller had no string, and has over 1300 transactions with a perfect record. That doesn’t mean it won’t break, but his bow descriptions are reliable. I’m very patient now that I’m older, but since it’ll be here soon, the waiting is wearing on me!^<>^

Lance, Rocky the cat has to check everything out that enters his domain. He didn’t get into this box bc he couldn’t drag it away. The Polar is 64” 72#. It’s more longbow than recurve. I have to use a stringer with this one.

It’s exactly how the seller described, nice shape. I will put new side plates and new leather wrapped grip on it. The grip reeks of cigar smoke. I haven’t strung her up yet, got to find my other striinger. So far it’s a keeper, but it’s untried at this point.

Chuck - Not much to see ‘til I can string it up. I’ll cut out some new strike plates and a new grip later tonight. It’s a little different than my ‘56 Polar. Getting ready for that dinner thing tonight in Joliet.
