Sorry haven't posted in a looong time. Has anyone heard of Anderson bows? A friend picked up a bow at a yard sale. All it says is "made by Anderson." Personally I suspect it may be a Bingham Projects kit...

Very nice find. Judging from the design and style, I would guess it to be made by Fred Anderson. He's one of the best "classic" bowyers on the planet.

how much do you want for it?

Fred Anderson? Ok that gives me something to look up. Thanks!

There was an Anderson Archery Company also. Fred usually signed his first and last name. You might go right to the man, PM Fred (skookum )

S.M.Robertson I don't know what his intentions are with it as yet. He just picked it up today or maybe yesterday and was asking if I knew anything about it.

Funny Mountainman and I were just talking about Fred Anderson. Wow. JF

To be clear the forward riser is why I was thinking Bingham...It's a beautiful bow that's for sure. Wish I'd Found it first, whoever made it...

Just by looking at the design and style, I'm very certain that it was made by Fred even though it doesn't have his first name on it.

As previously suggested, if you send him a P.M. he would be able tell you for sure if he made it.

Fred Anderson did sometimes sign his bows with just his last name. This is his signature on a Skookum longbow he made for Hugh Rich.

I would definitely contact him for confirmation.

I'm guessing Fred Anderson as well. A is crossed with an arrow. One things for sure...it's not a Bingham design.

Wow, that sure looks like a nice one 70# @ 28" if my old eyes are reading it right.

Yep, he made it.

Geez I feel bad I ever mentioned Bingham. I knew of skookum but didn't connect the dots. I just remembered seeing plans somewhere with that forward riser. D'oh!

Cascade Mountain cinched it. It’s one of Fred’s. Lance

wow.. nice find!!! I wish I could come across something like that in a yard sale!

Any idea as to value? He's a newbie so 70# is way to much bow for him (for now anyway, although he is fit, and drew my 50# without breaking a sweat)

you can't really put a value on that bow. There aren't million of them around. And it does have collector value to some who are looking for quality built old bows, from some of the finest bowyers.

To other's it's just another old fashioned recurve, in a draw weight they can't handle.

From: dingas

fdp that's very true.

Back in the early 1980s most of the recurves on the market tended to be short (58" to 64"). A number of guys I knew wanted a longer less sensitive hunting bow. So I came out with a 68" fairly straight limbed bow that had a parallel core and a forward riser and a moderate recurve (similar to some of the great shooting bows of the 50's and 60's...like the Eicholtz and White bows of that time period). I called them "Ridge-Runners" and sold about 30 of them on custom order. .....skookum

Wow thanks for that info skookum!
