Was up in Amish country yesterday with the wife and stopped in Lancaster Archery Center for the first time. Very nice place and super friendly staff. The showroom is kinda divided in half between traditional and compounds. Had a nice 60" SK on the rack, man it was purdy. I'd like to get to visit 3 Rivers Archery sometime but it's a good ways from me.

I stopped by on a trip back from Block Island and was very impressed with the facility. It was Halloween and some of the staff were in costumes. They guy helping me spent over an hour patiently going over the Ilf rigs. I was just getting into traditional shooting at that point. Didn't buy anything that day but have spent a bunch online since. Excellent company.

Thumbs UP to John Wert at Lancaster Archery

John was up to BBTC in May and was tying on a nock for a customer and I was asking him about getting a few inch's of that string material to use on a friends bow so his nock on arrow wouldn't be so loose. He was so generous he must of gave me 30 feet of the material to have. When I got home I ordered a Galaxy one piece recurve from them and not only got Free shipping I also received an E card for $35.00 and used it on a spool of that nock tying material, nocks and feathers. Very nice shop they have and every October I drop in there and look at all the goodies they have. Thanks Lancaster Archery!

I am probably the oddball here but I dislike shopping for anything, archery stuff included. Philosophically, I almost never shop for price because I want to support people who support me. You get what you pay for. I have never bought a new bow, don't plan to (have bought 10 in a dozen years).

What I want/need I've learned about from a few friends, met at my club's 3Ds and from chat right here on Leatherwall.

I rely on Archery Shoppe (local in Albuquerque), Lancaster and FS Discount for most purchases. Lancaster is amazingly helpful online and by phone. No complaints about anybody else.

when I visit my sister in Pa. I always stop in . just remember its their showroom, they don't have everything they carry available there. I hear 3R has a small show room don't really know. both are big mail order companys.

I'm lucky that the archery shop I go to deal a lot with Lancaster archery. They don't deal much with Traditional archery but they order from Lancaster whenever I need anything. Before Lancaster archery there was a huge archery store called Bowhunters discount and they carried a lot of recurves and longbows. I bought a Bear Kodiak there around 1985.

Bill, Bowhunter Warehouse is still in the same spot but goes as Bowhunter's Superstore. They also have an offshoot there called Tree Stand City. That said, they rarely advertise like they used to so you have to find them on the net.

I'm a Lancaster Archery fan. They are local owners and local workers and customer oriented. In the long and short of it, they are small business, as is 3Rivers.

If you need something and are planning to visit LAS showroom, call ahead. Make sure it is I the showroom or that they will transfer it over before

The warehouse is 20 minutes away and often things have to be transferred over to the showroom.

Three Rivers has a small show room. They used to allow you to go into the warehouse and browse any time you came to the shop, but they stopped that and I think now only open the show room on Saturday. My son lives not far from there and it used to be that every visit to his place included a visit to 3Rivers, but not any more due to the fact that I never stay through Saturday as I have duties back home on Sundays. I always managed to find stuff I didn't go in for because I happened to see it in the course of my browsing. It was/is a neat experience to spend time back in the warehouse area--I even bought a really nice used Bear Kodiak Hunter once.

I give Lancaster a big thumbs up also. I have been wanting a low wrist grip for my Hoyt Satori for over a year now. No one has offered one. Jager is making one now. I seen it in Jager website but they don’t have a phone number to call you have to email them and I had a question before I order it. After 8 days no reply from Jager I remember that Lancaster sells Jager product. So I called them this last weekend and talked with them and they answered my questions and they are getting the grip for me. Can’t wait to get it ! I was very happy with Lancaster Archery !

Talk about customer service! On July fourth I needed some arrows for a shoot that weekend. I ordered on Monday, and asked for 3 day shipping. I forgot the 4th was not a business day, and UPS would not deliver until Monday. On Thursday I called LAS and spoke with Moose, He sent a replacement order UPS overnight. I got the arrows on Friday. He also sent a return mail sticker to send back the original arrows when thy arrived. All at no additional cost. How can you not like LAS.

My son lives about 40 minutes away from Lancaster so it was a must visit. Last visit I went for a set of ILF limbs. Got lots of help that I needed and happy with the limbs I bought. 3Rivers is on my list to visit but only open on Saturday makes it hard as it would be a stop on way to or from our son’s house. Locally we have a few options and they will order the items for you. In some cases the prices work out cause I don’t pay shipping. That’s a plus in my book.

years ago (close to 15) I visited 3r archery I met Dale and his wife and others I cant remember. It was when I was shopping for my first new traditional bow (switching from compound)

They let me walk the warehouse and look at everything (pretty much unsupervised) Dale let me shoot a Tomahawk longbow for a a little while

They were really nice (and Im sure they still are)

But I think since they've grown they have lost a little of that personal connection.

Id like to go to lancaster archery one day
