GREAT PHOTO! handsome creature. Wonder why the fawn showed up there? A bit strange. Don't think that You will hear MEOW.

What big ears you have kitty, and you won't eat the birdies. They just found one that died under our dirt floor porch at the archery club. First time that we know of, strange.

Might be ill or lost it's mother, need to take it to a wildlife hospital if you have one.

Did momma show up?

It obviously needs help.

I’d wait a while before doing anything with it. Mama may still be around.

Yep, mom’s around. I had one lay in the grass all afternoon one time. Mom came down out of the field at 8:00 pm and bleated. The fawn went right to her. My buddy had one under his truck last week. Even wandered into his garage. It happens.

Aww. My borderlab, Harley Boy found one that size. They stood there and smelled each other. It was so cool to see. I saw this little one today. JF

If it’s 30 hours the doe isn’t coming back. She’s not stuck in traffic! The dawn needs to be fed a few times a day. You need to call someone or you’re gonna find it may be past time for help. The guys are right to leave it normally but 30 hours is too long. Also in an odd spot that the doe prob didn’t place it in

We had one hanging around the vacant lot next door for 3 or 4 days a couple of weeks ago never did see the momma. My wife was just about to have a fit worrying about it. Little thing finally wandered off by itself and probably did not survive. If the fawn we saw would have been on our back doorstep like that one, she'd would've had it in the house making a pet out of it.

Same here Sammy. She has a soft spot for all animals, esp. those that are in need. She even cares about a rat. Honorable thing I think, in our world now. She taught me to be more empathetic toward event the lowest of critters...good rubbed off. That fawn needs to be taken to a wildlife rehab specialist asap or it will die. Can you go without food or drink for days? Neither can it...

rehabilitation and release making a "pet" out of a wild animal is not the answer.

From: TrapperKayak
Date: 25-Jun-18

I thought rehabbing like raptor rehab and re-release into the wild, without too much human acclimation would be better than letting it die.

Well the wife yesterday afternoon got it to eat a little from a bottle and got it to take some electrolytes. She raises and breeds goats so we have all the essentials. Was going to take it to a rehab center today but the little girl passed during the night. Looking back I should have acted sooner but was hoping mom would show back up. Our vet friend thinks it was probably sick and mom abandoned it and it just wondered up. Had marks on it where something had got at it.

"Might be ill or lost it's mother, need to take it to a wildlife hospital if you have one."

ABSOLUTELY the wrong thing to do and flies right in the face of what your local DNR instructs. Leave it be, just because mama isn't readily visible doesn't mean the fawn is orphaned or needs help. She knows where the fawn is and if you move it or take it somewhere you risk creating a bad situation where one probably didn't exist in the first place. FYI, a lot of does will place their fawns close to human activity such as this because it's "safer" from a predator standpoint.

LEAVE THE FAWN ALONE! It'll be fine..

That's a bummer longbeauxman. If it had marks on it something must have chased it and it ended up there.Ive got 5 on bottle right now.
