Well folks, it happened again. Now I have only 4 of my .700 spine arrows left. I took the Pro Medalist out tonight and began working on form at 10 yards. My arrows were landing within an inch of each other, so I had to stop and move back to 14 yards. I figured my groups would open a little and I'd be fine. I put three arrows on top of each other and the 4th Robin Hooded another arrow! Robin Hoods are nothing to brag about. They may show your form is consistent, but they also show you were shooting too close. It's only my second or third time out, and now I'm stuck with only 4 arrows, and they are the most expensive arrows I've purchased. On the plus side, 4 arrows is just about perfect. I tend to get a little sloppy when I'm shooting 5 or 6 arrows. Anyway, I'm just tired of people bragging up their Robin Hoods, when they aren't desirable. I'd rather shoot poorly and not break my arrows than shoot great and break one.

If you have drill bits laying around see what size shank fits the shaft. Depending the i.d.- internal diamater i may have some bushings laying around. If theyre that expensive youll appreciate pin nocks.

I wish I could shoot at 20 yards, but the cops might see me. I can go back to 17 yards and be hidden well. I decided to just keep shooting and go berserk if I break another arrow. Pin nocks won't help with this matter. I also don't believe in shooting at spot targets. You know, one arrow per spot. That's compound bow garbage!

If you send a dozen arrows to the same point on the target, you are bound to get a Robin Hood.

LOL! That rumor of me running over deer is fake news. I dispatched a deer wounded by a farm combine and used my deer tag as an act of mercy for the poor buck. My enemies, out of their jealousy over not having great bows like mine, started the roadkill rumor.

The first one was like.....WOW! That's awesome!
The second time it was like.....Hey! I did it again.
Third time was more like.... ****! I just bought those arrows!!!
And that's when I started shooting at a 5 spot target.

So you knowingly encouraged Pdiddly and I to break the laws of your fair town when we stopped there last fall? And you let me shoot from 25 yards, standing right next to the street! It's lucky I didn't get pinched--especially since I'm not sure that either of you would have bailed me out.

Frisky, I strung up my Yew self bow after I read your comment on how great your bow was and I shot this real robin hood, I called it a real robin hood because the first arrow was in the bullseye and the second arrow split the first wood arrow. This was done at 14 yards.
Now so much for the bow being the reason for robin hood, it's not the equipment.

Frisky, What you see is what you see, nothing more. I am and have always been pretty accurate at 12 to 15 yards, past that not so much, is there a problem. Killing a deer with a buick is an art and following up with the arrow, now that is a real trick.

The way I look at it, a Robin Hood shows the shooter to be inept. You must work harder to overcome this or forever live in the land of the bogus.

Guys could all but eliminate them with pin nocks, or nock inserts with glue on nocks. That said, few folks could get a real robin hood that is called before the shot is made.

Yeah...crookedstix and I were the only ones shooting a bow that night...Frisky was shooting the bull!!
I think Joe made three shots...I wonder if he's figured out where the arrows landed??
And that hole was in your garage window long before we got there...geez!
I would have bailed you out Kerry...only way I would have had gas money to get home! Mind you, I would have had to swipe the Deathmaster and pawn it to get the cash together.

As I heard Byron Fergason say one time, (paraphrasing) "A Robin Hood only occurs when one intentionally puts an arrow in the the center of the bullseye, and then follows that up by intentionally put a second arrow in the center of the first arrow. Anything else is just luck"
I stuck a broken arrow in my target and shot at it off and on (15 - 25 yards) for a year or so with no Robin Hoods. The only "true" Robin Hood I have to date was shooting Rick Barbee's challenge shot a year or so ago, and that was at 10 yards.
But of course, I'm no Frisky... lol

I am starting my 62nd year in Archery. I have been fortunate to have had an awesome competition run back in my early years (30+ years). I've managed a few big wins, even a good number of indoor perfect scores (B/4 5 spot)with fingers & recurve too. Destroyed a ton of arrows. Robin Hoods in all those years, ONE. A xx75 Orange 1716 in a tournament. I think this is due to the fact I still shoot Aluminums & carbons of today are hollow. I had a shop/lanes back then & saw several archers robin hood fiberglass arrows (hollow like carbons). Not complaining at all. That single Robin Hood hangs over my Desk.

Now Frisky probably richocheted that arrow off the hood ornament, hit the cat, he directed it to the one he had stuck in his target and the cat got the Robin Hood.
