Thinking of Sawmill this year. Like to shoot. Don't need anything so won't miss the venders. Hope to enjoy the less crowded camping.

Won’t make it this year due to shoulder replacement surgery June 5th. We normally do a day trip. Enjoy this shooters shoot. Great courses awesome exercise. See you next year. Have fun.

Can not wait, will be the first year for me? We are not sure if we will camp or get a room, is there usually room if a guy decides last minute to camp there?

From: Andy Man

I'm pondering it

7 hour drive from VA for me ; kinda long drive by myself

was a great shoot though ; also wife healing from a total hip replacement and question the wisdom of being able to leave her alone (though seems to be getting around just fine just afraid of a fall

still have some time to ponder

I went year before last 3under, and camping space was fine (I got there thursday evening ) by Saturday it was getting filled up but still spots- but nothing like Denton Hill

If the weather cooperates, our group of seven or eight trad archers should be there for the entire event. Hope some of our grandkids join us for a day as well. Always a fun time!

Thanks Andy Man and WidowSax ,we'll be there thurs-sun ,whats the requirement for the fire ring, in case the are none left when we get there, and how far are the shots on the Eagle Eye qualifier?

From: Yewbender
Date: 14-Jun-18

Yup...Sawmill is a shooters shoot for sure! Plenty of camping room for sure unlike Denton Hill and way less crowded!

Wish i was going but will be attending another shoot that weekend. So Craig...i’ll say Hi now since i won’t see you. Also good to see you last weekend and many others at Marsh Hill!

Have a great time and safe trip.

From: Witherstick

So far this year, we have attended 4 local shoots, The Tennessee Classic, Cloverdale, Compton tomorrow, and a 5th local shoot on Sunday. Now, We are trying to arrange things so that we can make the 9 hour journey to Sawmill for at least the weekend!

Hopefully it works for us. We actually flew in from D.C. to Indianapolis on Memorial day morning so that we could drive an hour home from the airport, grab our bows, and make a shoot another hour away from home. So, we are known to do crazy things, and Sawmill is one of the few shoots that we haven't been to. We really enjoy the area and never miss ETAR, but ETAR is still too far away.

Perhaps you will see us there. Unfortunately, our older children can't get free and will still be home. But, the youngest, my wife, and I just might make it.

Silly me. I took the thread title to mean it was an offer to cut up bow wood... or maybe he was actually selling a sawmill... nevermind :^)

Don't feel like trying to get my arrow out watched a guy fall in water getting his I'm to old and cranky to get wet I would be as mad as a wet hornet lol or if I miss getting wet to get arrow. Widow

Looks like some beautiful scenery! How many vendors go? ~Wojo

From: ghostrob
Date: 19-Jun-18

If you camp, are there showers available to use?

From: mcgroundstalker
Date: 19-Jun-18

Showers are available to campers... That's a good thing...

Not too many vendors, guess (they) know most shooters show up ready to rock and roll... Now the Swap Meet is a good one... I've always found something I "need" there and sold a bunch of stuff too...

From: Fletch36
Date: 19-Jun-18

I’ll be there as a vendor this year. Mostly vintage wool items, but I’ll also have camo, boots, and other odds and ends related to hunting and archery. Looking forward to shooting with my dad and hopefully some of you all. I’ll be setting up Thursday morning and will be there all day Thursday and Friday and the afternoon on Saturday. Drive safe!

Sadly, we are reconsidering our trip to Sawmill. We can only make Saturday which doesn't look good as far as weather.

From: ShadeHaven
Date: 22-Jun-18

I'm going... but now I wonder if I should just skip camping and sleep in my jeep. I'm not into getting soaked again like Baltimore. Made for a miserable stay.
