Bryan -

That Staghorn beauty was mine - went to a guy in WI. I'm not sure if he is a Leatherwall guy or not.

I've been letting some bows go - been saying I was going to thin down my 35+ year accumulation of bows for at least 5 years :).

I just let this one go tonight - 61 Kodiak Special. Man it's so much tougher to let them go than welcoming one in...

Piddly,

Those riser laminations on the Southern California bow are incredible. I've never seen such an intricate pattern on a bow. I see fine lines that are pleasingly delicate, and an interesting pattern of light colored pieces abutting dark colored pieces.

Any bowyer that could think ahead enough to envision how those lams would interplay in the finished bow could have been a heck of a chess player. Thanks for including the pictures.

From: Pdiddly
Date: 21-Jun-18

Gray Goose...later today I will post a picture of the opposite side of the riser and the tips as well.

It really is the work of a master...notice that the lams in the sight window are and I-Beam set-up.

They were set between the two outside layers and designed just for the sight window...that lamination group produces the dark curved arches and the thin vertical lams are dark wood-the opposite colour of the outer lams they line up with.

It is very impressive. Plus, it's really fast and ultra quiet with no silencing.

sbos, I'm not a bocote fan, but the interesting patern in the riser of your bow is fantastic.

My rich emery stik is beautiful as well...zebrawood with a zircote stripe for that X in the grip...brown glass that is flawless...and y'all would never guess the price of this custom and how well it shoots

From: DanaC

For 'factory' bows the old Howatts, up to and including the Dreamcatcher. Honorable mention to the Super Necedah. As for 'custom' there are so many I'd hate to make a list.

Since traditional bows are becoming more of a 'boutique' item these days it's not surprising how many new bows are works of art.

Blackstick, good lines. After a a while the shots of risers begin to look like wood samples in an office furniture showroom.

Besides the black and white boobies, Mountain dude I like capped risers with two woods, but I was wondering about the long knocking point, while trying to stop looking at the boobies. Does that serve a purpose? I am guessing you knock above.

I've had some beautiful bows and I still own some beautiful bows. But this one I really miss. Unfortunately it developed some major cracks in the riser and the bowyer made no exception to his published warranty. So that I meant I was out of a bow and out a good portion of my money.

Oh well..................but what a looker it was!!!!
