Expect a great time. One of the best shoots around. The courses and targets are awesome. Good food in the clubhouse and very nice people running the shoot. You will have fun.

I agree with everything ruinfletch said, but even that's understating it. You'll have a great time!

Enjoy folks! First time in a long time I will not be there. Have some family obligations that come first. Courses are always laid out different each year so there are sure to be a few surprises.

Heading down with my oldest boy for the second year. I let him choose which "camping" shoot we went to this summer and he didn't heaitate, he said Coon Rapids immediately. Plan on coming down Friday to try and find a camp site at Bunker Hills. There was a guy working the shoot last year that told us we didn't have to camp in the campground, the sites at the club property were first come, first serve. Anybody with more insight on this?

Spray your pants for ticks and you'll love the courses! It's a fun shoot and great place to trade or buy.

Never seen a camp site space issue at Rapids. I'll be there with my Aliner pop-up and a slew of grandkids. I'd guess 250-300 archers.

shooting the $80 Red Wing Slimline I bought off e-Bay last week. Will probably hang out a few lefties I no longer use.

When I first started shooting it we had near 600 archers but it has declined some. I regretfully can't afford to go this year, but it is with out a doubt one of the best 3d shoots in the Midwest, and I have been to Cloverdale and think the Coon Rapids shoot tops it.

I plan on going again this year...been there most of the last 15 years! I really enjoy it...it's a great time!

Well we plan on arriving sometime early afternoon Friday. Looks like we might have some interesting weather! Safe travels to everyone planning on going.

Heading to the shoot on Saturday with a couple of buddies... will be my first time at this shoot and am looking forward to it!

The weather looks dry and hot, mid 90's. It'll make that Africa leg of the shoot all that more realistic.

Dry?? Better look again...even if it doesn't rain, the humidity will make you feel like it is. Regardless, gonna be a good shoot!

Who else is camping on site? Leatherwall cook out Saturday night?

We made it. If you see a beat up red dodge with a tribe sticker in the window stop in and say hi.

Have fun. I really enjoy the courses. Pretty good mix of close and far and plenty of challenging brushy shots. Usually several "thread the needle" type shots.

Clubhouse and vendors are good and the atmosphere is great. Wish I could make it this year.

This goes out to Keogan, Upnorths 9 yr old son. He is one of the best trad shooters I’ve ever seen. Look on the leader board tomorrow and see how bad a 9 yearold kicked your butt!!! It’s going to take some good shooting tomorrow to whoop this lad. And by the way Keogan, I’m going kick your butt tomorrow!!! Arrowchucker out
