I try to get out and go Frog'n at least once a summer. I usually take my bow, and end up using a gig to fill out my bag limit.I'm looking for some ideas for frog's points. Hope everyone has a safe, fun, summer!

Beleave it or not,,,,,,when i was young man a friends father taught us how to go frog' with fly rods Get the puffyest fly you got,,,im,not a fly fisher persay,,,,,we used a puffy red or yellow fly and drop it on a lilly pad changing spots here and there And them bull frogs would fight over them
If i went with a bow id use a fishing arrow or drill a hole behind the point on a regular arrow and bend a barb out of a piece of heavy gauge wire

I've heard about the red felt and fly rod, I've gigged alot, and have shot alot with a field point. However, I always lose a few with field points. I'm looking for something that will keep them on the point or prevent them from sliding off the arrow. As you know body shot frogs keep on living. I once had a yard full hopping around with their entrails hanging out as I tried to clean them. My buddies enjoyed hunting them, but left me in the front yard at O-Dark Thirty with 60 frogs. The neighbors probably would of called local law enforcement if my Sheriff's Office cruiser wasn't parked in the driveway. Good Times!

Field point for direct hits. When they're in shallow water, you can shoot right next to their heads with a big rubber blunt. The shock will stun or kill them and they'll float long enough for you to scoop them up. Also works with a .22.

I've never tried but I would think a rubber blunt tip would work well...or the barb

I had bad luck with barbed fish arrows, as they would go way deep into the silt and mush, often catching on a root that would make them almost unretreivable. I think a rubber blunt or condor might work better.

Good ole field point works just fine.. Pin the jumping little bugger into the mud and reach down and get him and the arrow at the same time! LOL
