I really don't want to start a what is better match on here. But I have been experimenting with 3 or 4 fletch 2in gateway rayzrs and all I can say is wow. Arrows seem a tad quicker and are hardly effected by wind....when my new custom gets here I'll be dialing in some shafts with 4 fletch...very cool stuff here

Sounds good to me! only makes sense that less feather would be faster and less affected by wind. If you have a good enough release and your arrows are well tuned, I say go for it.

Yep, they'll tighten up your gaps, make less noise, and get shake off the wind a little better. If you aren't hung up on aesthetics and have good form and a smooth release then they might up your game and are a lot of fun. They really start to shine at about 35-40 yards. If you lack good form and release then they will show you the holes in your program right away.

You might want to experiment a little more between 3 fletch and 4.

I did some shooting with 3 and 4 two inch feathers along side 3 five inch. Shoot them all through paper and you'll find the claim about four fletch and 5 inch recovering faster from paradox is just that a claim.

It's the spine of the arrow that makes it recover from paradox, not the fletching.

Yea as I shoot them more and more side by side I'm not seeing much difference. Both fly great though! I'll save some money and go 3 fletch probably

Have you tried any broadheads with them

They stabilize big broadheads quite well, a properly tuned shaft assures that. I use 3 X 2.25" Shield cut behind 160 grain Snuffers with a 75 grain broadhead adaptor.

I've become a believer that the least amount of fletching you can use, the better off you are. It's all about proper foundational bow/arrow tuning. Took me along time to get to that point.

Big feathers do have a "cool" factor though.

I love the look of big shield cut feathers and I like to shoot them and still do occasionally. But big feathers were used back in the day on the straightest stick that could be found and often a less than well balanced head. Today we have the benefit of well balanced, straight shafts of various materials and when you have everything right then you just don't need that much feather. Big feathers are pretty, they are "traditional", but I am not getting my best performance with 15" of feather, I'm getting it with 6.75".

I have not shot any broadheads yet. Will mess with them later in the summer as I prepare for deer season

I use 3-three inch feathers now (on most arrows). Simmons heads fly as well as I can shoot them out to 25 yards.

Looks really good, how are your broadheads flying?

I use 3 fletch razors & 125 gr. fixed 3 blade & they shoot great.
