Anyone else like preserving old archery prints? I picked up this December 1955 Archery magazine from the auction site and plan on framing it tomorrow at Hobby Lobby. Matting and framing is cheap there. Should look good in the mancave.

I see a thread, archery pin up, has been closed.

Hopefully I didn't jinx your thread sir.

I have a whole book case full of stuff but I don't have room in my man closet for all of that on the wall. I have some nice prints that I bought back in the 1980's, and a few photos I took myself. One of my favorite covers was a 1965 Bow and Arrow Magazine that showed an archer drawing on a deer near a lake. Cool stuff.

There is a nice Sharon Tate picture with her holding a bow/ tin sign I've seen but do not want to offend anyone by posting it so Google it if you wish....T4, that Wes Kouba picture was one of the walls in my hunting camp while I was growing up. Great memories it brings, thank you.

You fellas have really made my day with all these works of art. Tonight I hung a light up Les Kouba print on my two year old grandson's wall. It's right below his Remington 341 and his Bear Little Bear recurve. It's a night light for the boy. I hope that he and his baby brother enjoy the woods like the rest of us.

I believe this print is entitled, "The Cowboys", but it really reminds me of Pope and Young, sitting around the camp fire after a great day of bowhunting. I've always been tempted to sketch in a longbow and a leather quiver. Richard

Mine are a number of my dad's oil paintings...my most prized possessions. He was an art teacher, my mentor, hunting buddy, and best friend. I think about him every day.

This is one of may favorites, about 2.5 feet square and the shine of the photo doesn't do justice to the detail. In the left, bottom of the gravel bar is a red & white striped quartz rock I found as a kid. He painted it into the foreground.

I've got 6 paintings, and gave a few others to family members.

T4halo I have most Archery magazines from 1949 to 1970. They are just sitting in a box. I thought about cutting the adds out and trying to get a couple of bucks each for them. Guess that would be better than have them sitting around and not being appreciated.

I routered out a countertop and placed old magazines, gun catalogs and such under a piece of plexiglass. Every few years I change out the magazines and have a new theme. In the mean time, I can work here, pile stuff, whatever. I have several old magazines framed and on the wall.

This is signed by artist Willis "Will" Magee. The pencil signature has a date of 1972 which is when he first drew it. A second date of 1983 is when he made prints.

The next two are from a collection of 4 prints from The Book of Archery, 1871. They are actually matted and framed, but I tried to get close ups since they are a bit fuzzy. I have the other 2 prints, but they're not framed.

This is "The Tartar Maid".

My man cave plan is going to be the archery shop I will build (okay have built) in the spring). Hamlet of Mirror where I was born in December 1951. Walls will be covered with all sorts of art. Taxidermy. There will be some ladies there because most of my sales staff will be ladies (just how it has worked out). We will only sell one brand of compound. Everything else will be stick. And all Leatherwallers cash will go a bit further, trades will get a bit more. Art bought for cash eh.
