Hi everyone. I've should have had this out much sooner.

The Meadville Field Archers will be having their Traditional Weekend on June 15-17th 2018. We always have it on Father's Day Weekend and yes, it's the same weekend as Compton. But if your free and anywhere within the area of northwestern Pa., give us a try. It won't be the biggest shoot you'll go to, but we strive to give you a nice variety of things to do.

We're located at:

15497 Inlet rd. Hamonsburg, Pa 16422

We have plenty of space for primitive camping and lots of free firewood. The Saturday night highlight is the knife and hawk throwing competition, which is held right after the Potluck dinner.

We have a very busy June with school wrapping up and K graduating, but we are planning on coming down. See you in a few weeks.

On the Meadville Archers facebook page, there's an old black and white photo from sometime before 1967 of my mother, sister and Meadville's club champion of the time Patty Bailey. I was shocked to see it. My mother died when I was 16 back in July of 1967. I'm also going to try to make it down.

Tom, it would be great to have you come enjoy our shoot. I believe there are other old pictures there that may stir some memories for you.

Last year I brought a friend to this shoot who had never attended a traditional gathering and he was impressed. Nice course setup good pot luck dinner ,and the free flu flu aerial shoot were great. Hope to make it again this year.

Do you have to shoot all three days? Or can you pick the day you want to shoot? Also, been trying to get a shooting schedule for Presque Isle Field Archers. Stopped by the clubhouse yesterday on my way to Erie thinking they'd have a schedule posted so I could write down some dates. No deal, but I was able to get a Meadville Field Archers schedule. Hmmm! LOL

Zildjian51, If you only want to shoot 1 day it's no problem.

However much you shoot is up to you. Or, if you want to just come to hang out and visit, that's great too. Also if it's hot or rainy, you're welcome to shoot in the lower level of the clubhouse and try your skill at hitting the floating bing bong ball.

Zildjian51, our schedule for Presque Isle is June 17, July 15, August 19, September 16. The third Sunday of the month. Just saw you were looking for it.

Back to the top. My favorite traditional shoot. Always a good time. A great way to spend Father's Day weekend.

No problem. I am just slow responding at times.

This time next week I'll be standing in the clubhouse, sipping coffee and hoping the weatherman's forecast of dry skies is spot on.

I have a new holder designed for the clay pigeon, for the Deadeye shootoff. I think it's going to work great.
