Today's shot will be 17 yards from an elevated position. Use what you can to get elevated... balcony, hillside, stepladder, tailgate, etc

God Bless,

CD

5' off the ground, step ladder. 5 inches left of where I wanted.

I wanted to blame the arrow, but nope. subsequent shots when my release was good went straight. Plucked? probably.

Using Maddog Machete 48#@28".

hope everyone have a good day today! -ted

Shot as called standing on the shooting bench at the club. There's a slight dip in the ground. A tad low from where I wanted. Shooting my 51# Yellowstone Hunter with Herritage 150s with 200gr points. Nice evening for shooting.

Shot as called elevated 10’ on a deck. Thanks CD!

We had sunny weather today (rarity in Ohio) with temperatures in the upper 50’s. Tomorrow a winter storm is coming with likely freezing rain turning to snow with up to 5” of snow accumulation. First day of spring tomorrow? Yea, right! :-)

Shot as called with new project bow. 62" 62 lb very early Bear Cub longbow. This was my 2nd shot, my 1st one blew thru my old bales somewhere. I really wasn't looking, as the intimidatation of shooting bows this old for the first time reallllly takes away from your concentration:) but it passed the test with flying colors with no damage other than the usual old bow, first shot spot, left in my drawers. Now for a new grip and a complete strip to refinish the old girl.

Shot from 17 yds, no elevation today. Felt good to be able to fling a few arrows today. Shot the 45lb Kodiak Hunter.

that a recurve lance? or longbow? almost feels like reverse handle longbow with grip area added. any idea what era it is from? pretty cool though. -ted

Won't let me post s picture but I did make a good shot. Just a couple inches low of where I wanted it. Thanks for the call

Ted, it's a recurve from what the consensus here is the early 50's. Lance

You guys are shooting so well that I got inspired to go for a late entry...

Story behind this is that I previewed McGroundstalker’s purse for the up-coming Trad Shoot yesterday and went from back-yard hero to 3D Zero in nothing flat!

Massive leap from golf balls at 17 and in to unmarked 3D critters at unknown ranges, and some of the obstructed shots are just... let’s just say you’ve gotta improvise!

Anyway, I decided for this one I’d just hold for right in the middle, but I had switched bows and neglected to double-check my cant... ended up a solid 4” left. Arguably still on the edge of the pie plate, but JMO just a miserable shot.

Follow-up was just as bad; probably good fortune that I had only 1 arrow in hand... Might've busted a nock...

Recalibrated the brain and got my stuff together my the 4th shot - holding on the pink cordage this time....

About 17 yards, but no elevation available...
