Simple question. What ink would be best used to write on cedar arrows finished with bohning lacquers? I have been using the same color arrows and feathers on shafts of different spine and grain weight. I'm trying to stay organized so I can grab and go depending on which bow weight I'm shooting. Thanks. TLM

Well writing on them is one way I guess but I use different colored nocks to separate them if all else is the same

For spine I actually stamp mine. Weight if I label them I use a paint pen. Try to put it between coats of clear.

I used to write the weight on the arrow between the fletch and nock using a fine point marker. Haven't done that in quite a while though.

Like George, I use a fine point Sharpie & write between the fletching, works great.

Get you a Krylon Leafing Pen Gold Lacquer

I use a fine point marker and mark spine poundage between the fletch and the nock.

A little off the subject, but I used a fine point marker like George, etc., and a series of up to five dots. Each for five pounds of weight starting at 55 lbs. (55-60, 60-65, etc. up to 75-80). I also used cresting paint and rings below the feathers in a similar manner. I think the red cresting rings were better and quicker to see. But now I mostly sort weights into different quivers or tubes.

I color code my arrows between the nock and the fletching. That’s for spine. I use a fine sharpie for weight between the fletching.

Thanks for the ideas! TLM

I spin a stripe on my arrow at brace height, just so I know my string has not stretched. I then write the weight above the line and the spine below it, using the same sharpie I put the stripe on with.

Fine point Sharpie.
