I have been told that this sharpening method would not wotk with Cutthroat btoadheads due to the architechture of the Cutthroats, but would this trick work with VPA 2 blade heads? The ferrule is faceted similarly to the bevel angle. If I put the hone on the ferrule as a sharpening angle guide, that would grind down the ferrule, but suppose I cut some of that glossy, thick, slick packing tape and cover the ferrule with it. Then I can rest a Jewelstick diamond hone on the ferrule and the bevel as an angle guide, without grinding down the ferrule. Has anyone tried something like this? If it worked, it would be simple and easy.

That will certainly work fine, however I would start with a 6-8" mill bastard file then finish with the diamond hone, it will save you a lot of time and elbow grease.

Get some razor sharp wheels & learn how to use em (it takes time) but once you get it you'll never look back

^^^ This ^^^

You can sharpen any two blade broadhead (double, or single bevel), and just about any knife.

Heck, I could put a shaving edge on an icicle if they didn't melt so fast. 8^)
