I have read every archery book that I could get a hold of covering introductions to archery, archery history, bowhunting, and shooting form. Usually I read the books, take some notes, and pass them on. I recently purchased a new copy of 'Shooting the Stickbow' by Anthony Camera. It is one of the few books I will not part with. It is the most comprehensive and in depth book on shooting archery that I have found. You can buy it from 'shooting the stickbow.com'. I am aware that the author posts here.

In an effort to promote archery, I would like to offer a giveaway of five used copies of Stickbow. Be advised that although the book is well written, it takes some study to profit from it. It is about 400 pages long and has no glossy pictures of trophy animals or famous bowhunters. It does cover archery from basic equipment and shooting the first shot to the mental aspects of competing. Along the way it covers tuning, bow design, arrow making, string making, and building a shot. It is a book for the archer that wants to improve their shooting, or at least wants to see what building a shot is all about.

On Friday, March 23rd, my lovely wife will pick five names from those that post here. You know the drill. I'll purchase the used books and have one of them delivered to your address. I just ask that you try to pass the sport of archery on to someone new. Thanks.

If it is just tuning that you are after, Google 'tuning longbows and recurves'. You will find ACS Bow's presentation of O.L. Adcock's excellent tuning guide. Free.

A good source for shooting form is the mfaa's Biomechanically Efficient Shooting Technique. Google 'mfaa shooting technique' for a free pdf.

Happy Shooting, Mike
