Hey Ya'll, we just made a special purchase from Easton. Seems they decided to close out of the red and yellow barred 4" feathers they had planned on flethcing on who knows what because I guess they never used more than a dozen of them.

There loss is yours and my gain!

What we have is this:

-Right Wing 4" barred Red

-Right Wing 4" barred Yellow

They are Gateway feathers and only 2 years old so they were made after there equipment was revamped and the quill grind was greatly improved. Preacher has been fletching some of these on the inspire shafts and says the they lay down well.

Get them while you can because they are limited as with everything in life >LOL<

Oh, they are now on the website and I checked before I posted for a change..

$18. for 50 pack and $35 for a 100 pack.

Thanks, BigJim

Be interesting to know how many use right wing too.

JP,I use right wing but usally use 5" but wanting to try the 4" just to see how much less drag they have.Might not be enough difference at hunting distances to tell though.

NIce! when can we expect to see a list of used/new bows on your site again?

"NIce! when can we expect to see a list of used/new bows on your site again?"

Not for a while. He posted about removing them from his site. Too much to keep up with as he travels the shoot circuits. Just call him to check inventory.

I tried to buy those feathers and the shipping changed on me at check out. I would have bought them but $30+ for shipping feathers is just not right. Guess the good deal isn't for everyone, just my luck.

From: yaderehey

Big Jim's shipping calculator shows $8.45 Priority to Anchorage, AK. Seems pretty reasonable. It's only $30+ if you chose the USPS one day or Fed Ex one day options.

From: yaderehey
Date: 08-Mar-18

By the way that's only $.55 more than shipping the same items(300 feathers)to WY.....

From: GF
Date: 08-Mar-18

There’s something a little wonky with that shipping calculator... It first offered me $9-something or $22 for Fed-Ex 2nd day... but when I bit the bullet it turned out that the $9+ was the Fed-Ex (ground?) rate and USPS is a few bucks less.

So guts up and see what the final answer is for USPS before you pull out....

‘Cuz FWIW, I checked out a Major Archery Specialist Retailer and they are offering Gateway 4” shields for about $0.65 apiece....

So Jim has figured out how to hook us up for about 45% off, which is enough to get even me to shove a crowbar into my wallet... LOL

Thats funny, it showed me $9 USPS and you got a lower price. I will try again this morning and see.

From: Archre167
Date: 08-Mar-18

Well alright! It went thru for $8.45 shipping! Strange how it showed otherwise. All good in the end!

With shipping charges I always try to think how much it would cost me in gas to drive and get something. Usually the shipping charges is less than the gas. Not to mention time and probably having to buy food while I was out. Sales tax? I won't mention that.

I was getting high shipping charges on the web site so I aborted and called in person. Very nice lady took my order and $8.75 shipping. I used to call my orders to Big Jim's but then I let the internet take control of my life. Sure was nice to talk to the lady this morning. Great group of people at Big Jim's.

Ordered 50 red and 50 yellow and shipping was $7.30.

From: GF
Date: 08-Mar-18

50 of each? You must be a 4-fletcher??

I went 50 red & 100 yellah so I can fletch up a bunch....

From: Archre167
Date: 08-Mar-18

I was going to call too. I would rather talk to someone in person myself. But I also know how busy Big Jim gets and didn't want to bug him for the small stuff. I'm still waiting for my turn on his build list. That never seems to come soon enuf!

These are all shield cut and a 1 time deal.. unless I'm offered another chance somewhere else.

Our shipping calculator is an automated thing not designed for us to profit from, but to merely simplify the process and allow us to handle mass amounts of orders as quickly as possible. Ocasionally for reasons I am incapable of understanding, it goes off on a walkabout to do it's own thing. If we catch that, we will refund you the difference.. but you can imagine that we can't alwayse check every order. If you see shipping you happen to think is exhorbannant, or if you are charged for excessive shipping, please feel free to bring it to the attention of the office. PLEASE DON'T CALL MY CELL PHONE TO TELL ME THAT I CHARGED YOU TOO MUCH SHIPPING BECAUSE I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT AND WILL JUST REFER YOU TO THE WOMEN IN THE OFFICE WHO KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON!

I know nothing about computers, websites, orders, shipping, links, smart phones, ipads, programs... get the point :) and have no intention of learning. I'm just a dumb bow builder.

Ok, having said that, we had a huge amount of these feathers. 21,000 to be exact. In just 3 days, we have sold a third of those i'm told. So get em while you can. Thanks, BigJim

I just made a first time purchase from Big Jim for a couple of bags of the feathers and some nocks.

I must say that the shopping and cart function on his website is excellent and intuitive.

Setting up an account was also very well done as I retained a link to my cart.

I am from Canada but have my orders shipped to a place in New York state.

The shipping was initially very high ($25.00) but I continued through the checkout process adding info as requested. As soon as I entered my US shipping address the shipping amount changed to the correct amount and it went smoothly, including the exit to pay with PayPal and then being directed back to the website.

Quite impressed and I'll be back. Thanks for the great service and great deal on feathers!

The ladies work their tails off to get the orders out and to answer the phones and yes, put up with the crazies...you know who you are :) So, please remember the good service you received when the time comes that we make a mistake. We make our share of those too.

Our site is a work in progress and is constantly improving. If you find a problem, please let the office know... not me. I'm just a dumb bowyer. We thank you for your business, BigJim

Big Jim I have ordered more then several times from you. I have always appreciated the kind, courteous, prompt, flat out honest information I have gotten from you guys. Most of all I appreciate the working mans prices you have. I'll throw a plug in for Bear paw feathers and gloves along with ACE broad heads. Thanks again for a great company.
