Today's shot will be 16 yards from an elevated position. Use what you can to get elevated or simulate shooting from height... hillside, balcony, tailgate, stepladder, boulder, etc. Please shoot safely.

God Bless,

CD

shot as called from lawn chair. 20" off the ground. using AA X- 48. 55#@28".

The bow seems to gain 4 to 5 pounds in last inch or so(subjective feel), and is one of my slowest. but sometimes, lazy arc of an arrow that I can follow give me certain amount of Joy when shooting.

thank you CD for making the call, hope everyone have a good day today -ted

12 feet up from the bathroom window @ more like 12 paces. Thought it would be a bigger change of pace than 16”-18” up, perched on a log...

FS - about an inch high and almost 3” to the right with a 1916

Mulligan - same issue with windage but about 7” lower with an 1816. Realized that my shirt-sleeve was in the way on both of the first two.

Third time... not quite the charm, but I cut the windage error in half and made a modest improvement on the elevation with a 4-fletch 2016.

It’s really pretty dreadful looking as groups go (and the camera angle here does nothing to disguise that!), but on the other hand...

Worst one of the bunch was still comfortably in the pie plate, and most of my shots from tree stands have been at comparable ranges, even with rifles, since I like to know that my bullets will end up deep in the dirt.

So that’s some consolation, but I was a lot happier with my shot last night...

Lol - yes, I put all those cover bushes to good use. That howling ‘dawg’ as my girlfriend calls it, is one of my favorite targets.

New longbow and arrow for my first shot today. Went to Cabela's yesterday and bought a new jacket for next winter and made the "mistake" to visit the archery dept. I saw some threads on here regarding the Fleetwood Frontier Longbows and they had one so i had it strung and I shot it for 15 minutes or so. The only 50# one in stock so the clerk knocked off $30 for being the floor model and being scratched in a couple of places. I didn't even ask for him to that, but I wasn't arguing either. So far I'm impressed with this 68" longbow! I just finished these arrows this morning. Took the shot elevated from my back porch. Sorry for the longer than usual post. Thanks for the call, and you all have a good rest of your day. Lance

I’m expecting what SB got to blow in tonight, so I ran outside real quick just in case I can’t do this tomorrow…

Just standing there at about 16-17; first was high (4 1/2” and 2” right) with the 2016; 1816, 1916, and footed 2018 were all as good as I can get ‘em!

Kind of nice to have one spine that bare-shafts Spot-On for each bow, and at least one bow that will shoot whatever comes out of the quiver. Just be nice if I could do this a bit more consistently...
