Where can I find 100+# wood arrows? Need a 32" arrow. I'll shoot 200 grain points and my draw is 67#@31" out of a big jim longbow. I already shoot aluminum and carbon. Haven't messed with wood arrows since I was a kid so I don't really know any resources. Thanks >>>-----> Zack

Will probably need to go to a hardwood and/or have them custom made. Will need at least a 23/64 diameter shaft in softwoods like POC, Doug Fir or Sitka Spruce, and may need to go to 3/8n inches in those woods to attain that weight.

I did have some 11/32 Sweetland forgewoods at one time that spined more than 100#, but they were only 31 1/2 inches full length.

Forrester shafts or Forrester Archery (Don't know the exact name) is the place to start the search for heavy spined hardwoods. Surewood Shafts may be able to help you out with heavy spined Doug firs.

Good luck in your search.

100# wood arrow... That would be like a caber toss? :D My first thought would be to call someone like Surewood shafts and tell them what you have in mind. My second opinion would be to call Twig Archery and talk to John. I spent some time on the phone with John this week and have some 23/64 Chundoo in the mail for my, 65# @ my draw, longbow.

Bob Burton of Whispering Wind likely has them, he posts here as aromakr. Good guy with lots of schmardts.

Forester has hardwood shafts that run that high.

I figured I could always drop down in point weight if I need to. That would help with spine and keep me closer to a 750 grain arrow.

Ok. Thanks everybody.

I guess I don't if I shoot 100 or 125 points but I want to shoot at least 145- 160.

Was gonna say Forrester too. You should easily get 100# from a 23/64 maple shaft. Maybe 11/32.

I've been down this road. Try surewood and waipiti archery. You won't find it in POC but you can get it in Doug fir.

I buy 11/32 western larch spined at 100# plus. They are heavier than the soft woods but still lighter than most typical hardwoods. Excellent arrows. If you are interested I will try and dig up my source. Been a couple years since I have purchased any.
