Picked up what I think is a 1951 Kodiak static recurve without the aluminum lamination.Has original leather handle and bowstring.Serial number is K-4 69# 14472 and is in good condition.Any idea what this might be worth?

Kinda heavy.Maybe $175-225 prices really went down in recent years.As a collector to me it's a $150 bow but there's someone who will want it.The newly released statics are sure to drive down value more.

Without the aluminum lam and without the reddish colored bi-directional glass your bow may be a 1952 model.1951 still had the aluminum lam but with uni-directional yellowish/gold colored glass.Which does yours have?

It might be 1952 as it does have reddish colored glass.I'll try to post some pictures.

Several of us were having a discussion recently on a Facebook Bear Archery group. I leaned that Bear changed from the bidirectional to unidirectional glass in mid 1951 and also dropped the aluminum lam in mid 1951. I believe that the unidirectional glass is better described as honey blond. There were several pictures posted showing the different shades of red and blonde. I have a 1950 exposed aluminum lam Polar with bidirectional glass that I describe as a reddish copper.
