Getting cold again- at least cold for here. Near freezing, and I burned most of my wood last week during the snow. Cutting fat wood, and getting ready to split some oak. Hope it is doid, as it has been piled up exposed since summer. 40+ and windy - chilly with two shirts on. When I get a bit cold, I take a break, and shoot some arrows.

Fun - and I warm up again.

THTS what I'm talking about! Just the smell brings back memories for a country boy. One match fires with rich fat liter.

Second try with the Necadah @ 35yds. Not much better.

And the KH at 20.shooting for the eye - and No, I don't advocate or try that on game, but a small target is a small target for practice.

There must be something wrong with me, because I have always liked splitting wood. When I was a kid, I alwAys liked helping my best friend do his wood splitting chores. I don't know, maybe I got played by Tom Sawyer, but I helped split many a log and much fat liter. AlwYs liked it and still do. I have a friend who says "I'll bring a splitter", but I always pass.

This doesn't count as splitting wood though. As I feared, it is crap, but hopefully it will burn enough to keep the Wife happy tonight.

Last Mohican - Yes I am using the Woodsman Pal for splitting. I recommend a hatchet, but the Woodsman's Pal works pretty dang good.

Lowcountry, don't know about splitting wood with the Pal but I love to use mine for making a natural blind. Nice tool for brush etc. Regards

Big Dog - I'm glad I'm not the only one using the "pal".

LC - I like that you got your money's worth out of that 3D deer target. I have one that looks a lot like it.

I love chopping wood. It's a Zen exercise. Just don't like having to pick it up.

Lowcountry, Thanks. My WP is in my truck and I should use it for splitting wood too! TLM
