After a nice long wait I finally got my thunderchild today. 58" 48@28 . The limbs are redwood burl and the riser is cocobolo and leadwood and the overlays are moose antler. I wasn't sure about a short bow yes 58 inch is short for me . But it shoots really nice and feels like I am shooting my buffalo longbow at 64" this thunderchild is so quite and I was surprised at the speed of the bow and how well it pointed and easy to get on target. Definitely worth the wait. Crow will be along to post up some pictures for me.

Typically beautiful sample of Big Jim's bows. Now how well do you shoot it?

From: hunterbob

Good enough to hopefully kill a deer . Bow definitely shoots better than I do.

Riverwolf it shoots as good as it looks to. If you ever get an opportunity to try one out do it.

Beautiful bow Bob, had a BJ Longbow, it was great, and as usual, shouldn't have sold her! But will eventually find another - great bows by a great bowyer! Wyatt

Well after shooting the thunderchild for a little while now. It is a joy to shoot and a nice thump at the shot. And sends an arrow pretty quick. Feels great in the hand . And no finger pinch at all . I would highly recommend one to anyone looking to get one. And big Jims craftsman ship is amazing. So if your thinking about one don't hesitate.

Very nice. Looks like an Indian nickel in the riser. Cool

From: Norseman

That riser looks great! I love the centre piece detail. Ive got 2 BJ Thunderchilds (or is it Thunderchildren)? A 1 piece and a takedown, theyre great bows! contemplating ordering another TD in a lighter weight..... just for when I get older and cant pull back the #55s anymore...

Cheers, Scott.

Yea Scott I really like the looks of the riser also. Let's see some pictures of your thunderchildren

Hunter Bob, here you go. Top bow is a takedown, #56@28" 60" long, walnut veneers and a Japanese Maple riser. Bow underneath it is a 1 piece #55@28" 58" long, cocobolo and Rosewood riser, tiger myrtle veneers.

Last one. These are great shooting, quality made bows. You can feel the workmanship that goes into them when you handle them.

From: hunterbob
Date: 12-Dec-17

Thank you those children look great also. If you notice on Jims thunderchild now he has the riser within the limb veneers . Like his buffalo and monarch . These thunderchilds are one sweet shooting and forgiving bow .

Very nice looking bow.
