Brad, it certainly looks nicer there than here... 45 and rain here... but I'm warm and dry in the shop, cleaning and digging for an osage stave for a friend too.

Brad, my experience with stave hunting is that I can buy them cheaper than I can harvest them. I guess if you know of a place with some osage you can cut it is different but starting out cold 2,000 miles from home is chancy.

I went through my stash today. Man, what a bunch of junk. I threw some in a pile to cut up for firewood, and realized I need to get off my butt and go cut some GOOD bow wood soon or I'm gonna be in trouble.
Have saw, truck, will travel.... anybody got straight osage trees they need cut down? :^)
sigh --- the hunt continues.

Steve you are so right,,much cheaper to buy one, heck I would have go buy a new chain saw,, and I dont think my back would take it,, I would havea to hire a crew to do the work,, bout the truck,,I have invested too much in repair to get rid of this one,,:)
Jeff ,, good to edit out that clutter,, makes it easier to choose next time,,
the bow is slowly revealing itself , ,but the growth ring is not as easy as I thought, it looked so straight, but is has a concave part that is slowing me down,,,

Good pick. I had a 68' F100 in that same color with the 360 3spd. Not nearly the power as modern trucks but they are so much easier to work on.
