Can anyone give me a little guidance on constructing a wooden riser that is stained green and has light maple stripes in it for accents. How do they get the stain all the way through the wood blank before they actually carve the handle? I can't see how they would stain the handle after assembly without bleed through.

I think I read somewhere that the dye/wood was put in a tank where they could apply a high negative (vacuum) pressure to draw the dye into the wood.

Bob Lee used to sell "Future Wood" that is pressure-stained all the way through. Check him out. Ray

Yep, the color is impregnated in to the wood.

It's very unlikely the dye would bleed through the glue joint, virtually impossible..

The thin maple stripes could be masked with pin striping tape.

The dyed action wood that I used in the past was color fast.

Bingham is stocking it again. Probably the same as future wood.
