Here is mine with my quiver I started it at mojam and a friend Finnished it for me and Ryan Gill made the quiver with furs I sent him. Got a doe with it this year

Love that profile, almost great Northern Bushbow-like. I bet its a sweet shooter.

Some of the accumulated overflow in the house, more are stuck here and there in my shop, all osage.

Beautiful bows!! I've drooled over osage selfbows, and all the rest of them, for years. I guess I'm going to have to get off my butt one of these days and learn to make them.

Wow, beautiful stuff boys! I have an osage stave that has been collecting cobwebs in the basement for ~10 years. I keep waiting for that big chunk of time that never comes......

I would give my left *** for a osage or yew bow. I know where a few Osage trees grow but not sure what to look for when selecting piece to cut.

straight and clear of branches knots and pins for 72" if you can. you can make a good bow with anything without knots and branches for 36", but things just get complicated. 72" looking like a fencepost or telephone pole with thick growth rings makes good bows easy

and bring two chain saws and a truck with a logging chain or a winch, a 4wd loader tractor is even better

Steve, the width taper and profile of that osage bow leaning against the tree is about as perfect as it gets.

I'm fascinated with these bows. Each one of them is a work of art and a functional work of art, at that.
