I am currently finishing up a jig to make fiberglass laminates. Wondering if anyone makes their own? Not much info out there. I have found one video and it was in Russian! Google translate did not help, I thought I was reading some bizarre coded message. Before somebody flames me for making something easily obtained, this is for fun, not trying to save money. Just looking for tip's. Thanks

Brandon Stahl, Rose Oak Creations use to have a bowyers website that may have info you can use.I can't find a link to send you. Good luck.

There is a builder who goes by screen name "Shred" who doesn't seem to participate here but he makes glass lams. Look for him on tradarcher.com or the bowyer's bench on TG.

Thanks for the heads-up, I will check these out. Should I document my experience when I finally commence, any interest out there?

Yeah Shredd is the man, he makes a myriad of unique colors. I say document it like crazy, be mindful of your dust which I am sure you already are. He has posted a lot of interesting stuff in the bowlers gallery on Brandon's site.

I am interested Steve! Will you be using linear fiberglass or a woven product?

I copied the jig the Russian gent had in his video. It uses fiberglass roving, tediously laced onto the jig and tensioned before wetting out with epoxy. I think the only reason to do this is the potential to mess around with different materials and colors. Some natural fibers insde clear epoxy might look nice.
