Figured I would post this video as it may be one of my last in this area. They are currently running flyovers with helicopters and killing all the goats in the public hunting area with no salvage options. Anyway enjoy the video from one of my favorite places on earth!

Why are they killing them off? Are they an eco menace there? Invasive species? Seems a shame to take away a hunting opportunity, but if they are not native.... I dunno. We have a lot of invasive species here: coyotes, fire ants, armadillos, feral hogs. They all do tremendous damage. Don't know about your goats, though.

yep. invasive, non native. been here since the 1700s though.

That's a long time. Seems a great waste of a resource and sporting opportunity. And a waste of meat, if I'm reading correctly.

you are reading it correctly. its a shame.

Can't see the video but agree 100%, eradication is such a shameful waste.

This same thing has happened on the Islands off CA. When Natures Conversey bought an Island they had everything not native killed off. The irony was Game and Fish could do nothing about it as pigs and goats are not native. Just some useless birds.

Well if it's a " public hunting area" what will there be to hunt when the goats and pigs are gone? That is a tragic thing they are doing.

Extremely liberal state. Not much concern for what's right.

Oh, you can probably hunt, still. Just won't be anything left to shoot at! Kind of like most of Utah's extended archery season areas.
