G'day folks, Who's got a short (60" or under) longbow? Got pics?

Heres my 58" Big Jim Thunder Child I bought off a forum member here not long ago, and my name has just come up on Gregg Coffeys list for a 58" Java Man Elkhart I put an order in for last Nov.

Cheers, Scott.

Some great looking bows there. I resisted this style of bow for a long time, I don't know why. They combine my favourite features from both longbows and Recurves. I can't get enough of them now, always on the look out for a new one!

Cheers, Scott.

Not my Elkhart, but I got to test drive this bad boy earlier this summer. Been dealing with separation anxiety ever since I sent it back.. Anyhoo, here's a not awesome picture of a short long bow, and a long recurve. Think I got on Gregg,s list for a 58" Elkhart before the test unit was heading back, or very shortly thereafter. Itching to get my hands on it, kinda tempted to get another spot on his list for a second one, just to be on the safe side..

From: Norseman
Date: 13-Sep-17

That Elkhart has some great lines. Mine should be getting started any day now...

cheers, Scott.

Ever shot a "short" Longbow. I'd love to test drive a Shrew though. I think they are pretty nice looking! Not sure even, what other shorties are out there...

My primary hunting bow is a 62" Fox longbow. I find this bow to be very versatile. Glad I kept it.

I am a recurve shooter but this short longbow are as good and as accurate like the best curves. At 29" the 56" Elkheart and Thunderchild are smooth and silky.

I have a 54" Javaman Elkheart, 58" Javaman Tanjavur Longbow, a 56" Reynolds Thunderstick Mag, and a 58" Great Northern Lil' Creep that I have all picked up this year and they're all amazing bows. The Javaman bows and the Lil' Creep are dream bows of mine so having one of each has made me extremely happy.

I love short hybrid bows because they look and feel great to me; plus I'm not a tall guy with long arms. The Lil' Creep braces to a D shape but it has a slight reflex when unstrung. I LOVE how that bow shoots and it has a green back and brown belly and looks really great with that combo.

I'd love to get my hands on a Caribow, Centaur, and/or a Big Jim too (among others) but I've spent way too much money in the past few months buying bows so I need to take it easy and save for a bit.

Would post pics but I'm at work lol! I'll try to take some pics later and post them.

I also REALLY want one of the newer Super Shrews too. Not sure how I managed to forget that one. Being from Michigan, I'm a sucker for Michigan made bows and I'm lucky to be surrounded by some of the best craftsmen in the business.

From: Norseman
Date: 13-Sep-17

Ron LaClair, Has the design for the Shrew recently changed? The limbs look a little differently R/D'd than I remember ?

Cheers, Scott.

That St. Joe Torrent sure looks sweet. Short selfbows? Products of the Masters, eh? I appreciate all selfbows that are well made, but it takes special talent to shorten the length and make a great shooting shorter selfbow.

I posted a pic of one of my Kanati's. I have 3 total, two 60 in and a 58in, as well as a 58 in Journeyman TD. All shoot great! I tend to favor the 60 in bows, and I'm not exactly sure why. All have clickers and all are set to my 28.5 in draw length.
