I am designing a 48" Deflex/Reflex longbow for kids. I was thinking of keeping it simple, two parallels and a 12" riser design. I realize there's in lots of variables, but if somebody could help get me close. I was going to do two .080" parallels and two .030" glass. I thought with a 48" bow itll be close to 25lbs at say 20 inches. Before i take a shot in the dark maybe somebody could help me if they have built kid bows. about 1.25" wide at fades, .5" tips Thanks

Perhaps I can when I get home tonight, or tomorrow... I might be working a double shift today. I've made kids d/r longbows 48 and 56" long and kept records.

i build them 48" long. I use a parallel lam 0.125 with 040 glass and they end up close to 20@15. i'll double check the weight but that is what I remember

I build them 46" long and one inch wide with a 12" riser. One .002 taper and one parallel with .040 glass a stack of about .230 gives me 18-20# @ 20". Good luck on your build, gonna make some kid very happy.

I'm building for a kid who is 11, draws about 25, and she can only get a 30 back about 2/3rds. I'd like to try about 20 pounds, HH style bow would be best, which would run about 58 inches. If anyone has a starting point, that would be great.

46" Shadehaven "Fawny" Madness after my daughter's favorite stuffed animal, a whitetail fawn.

It's a d/r design. I want to build and then maybe an adult version. Should look similar to the profile of a Cari-bow slynx our a big Jim thunderchild.
