OK Folks, here we go. Remember now, you can;t start shooting until Monday the 4th

Rules:

Everyone shoots in the same class. One winner. High score wins a trophy.

Scoring is based on your honor, no cheating.

Target is to be made by the shooter. It should be a standard paper 8.75” paper plate. If a larger plate is used, all area outside the 8.75" diameter is a no score area, and should be marked out, or cut away. If you have a compass, you can draw the target on a piece of cardboard.

Draw a scoring ring 1.5” from the outer edge of the 8.75" scoring area, and a second ring 3” in from outer edge. Use a quarter ($.25) to shape a center ring.

The outer area will score 2 points. The next area scores 4 points. The center will score as 6 points. The quarter size center also scores as 6 points but also scores as an x which will serve as a tie breaker in the event it is needed.

Any arrow touching a line will score as the highest of the two values.

You can shoot as many warm up arrows as you want at a non-tournament target, but once you put the tournament target on your back stop, you only get 5 warm up arrows.

Shooters will shoot 20 scoring arrows. Sooting must take place, and all scores must be posted from 12:01 A.M. to 11:59 P.M. on Labor Day, Monday September 4th 2017

Shooting distance for this 2017 event will be 20 yards.

Shoot your hunting set up.

Post your score and the number of Xs on Labor Day. Posting pictures of your shooting is encouraged, but not required.

Winning shooter is not eligible to compete next year (2018).

Winning shooter will be responsible for making the trophy for the 2018 event.

Winning shooter will also be responsible for starting up the 2018 event, and posting these rules for that event.

I'll figure out this year trophy in a day or two

Make that 31 Shade, I'll be over around 3:00.

This sounds like a good time, but I don't know if my shoulder could take it. We'll have to see when the time comes.

Date: 30-Aug-17

I'm here. Don't know if I will get to shoot it or not.

I believe Sipsey River (John Sullins) was the feller who got the LWLDC going back a few years ago.

Good Shooting, and Have Fun to all those who get to participate !!!

Rick

From: Rick Barbee
Date: 30-Aug-17

In hopes/anticipation of getting to shoot in this, I got me a target ready to go.

Didn't have any paper plates on hand, but I've been practicing the indoor vegas round, so I have several of these 40cm vegas targets.

I modified the target to meet the LWLDC specifications.

The outer edge of the blue ring is 8-3/4". It, and the dark line at it's inside is the specified size 2 point scoring ring.

Any arrow outside the blue ring will score zero.

The red ring is the specified size 4 point scoring ring

The yellow spot is the specified size 6 point scoring ring, and the black dot is the specified size X-ring for it.

Now I just hope I get to shoot it come Monday. 8^)

It's Labor Day and I have Labor to do so I'm up and at it. Shooting comes first.

I shot 3 arrow ends with the last end 2 arrows at 20 yds. I had I miss and I x. My score was 86.

This was the first time I participated and enjoyed it a lot. Other than my miss, I was pretty happy with my shooting. I look forward to seeing everyone's shooting. Have fun and enjoy your Labor Day everyone. Jim

54 for me

shot with: 41# Wing Gull 64" amo(Head Ski), maple riser;

Fun. See you next year

From: Fletch

OOPS, I screwed up my scoring. I'm an idiot. Thanks for the PM Dao with the heads up - I was comparing my targets with others posted, and I noticed my goof up.

Score should be 90-2x, not 54.

I was using the "quarter" circle as "6 points" (and the "X"), then the ~ 3" diameter ring a "4" (should be "6 points"), and the ~ 6" circle was a "2" (should be "4 points"), and outside that, was scored "0" (should be "2 points/each").

I originally posted the ring scores in pen with circles around them on my original submitted picture of the target as 2-4-6 )going upwards to "2 o,clock". Upon rescoring, with the 2-4-6-x rings now in RED (at the :9 o'clock position" on the target, the same target gets a 90-2x.

SO, if it was golf, and I signed the wrong score-it would be a penalty stroke. Sorry guys and ladies. Honest mistake.

SCORE: 90-2x, less penalty stroke. Still with the 41# Wing Gull (46# @ my draw length).

I just can't follow directions. Ask my wife for proof. :-)

46 points for me. 51# Predator w/ Herritage 250s. Did my 1st shot of the day shots for my warm up. Pressure was realy on today with both threads to do. But it was fun!

From: Rick Barbee
Date: 04-Sep-17

I decided to add a little more challenge by alternating between bows & arrows.

````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
End 1 - 70" / 80# Fairbow American Rebel Longbow / Whispering Wind Wood Arrows:
6, 4, 4, 4, 2 - 20 /0X
````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````

End 2 - 64" / 68# Hoyt+Tradtech / Widow Maker Smash Carbon Arrows:

6, 4, 4, 2, 2 - 18 / 0X

````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
End 3 - 70" / 80# Fairbow American Rebel Longbow / Whispering Wind Wood Arrows:
6, 6, 6, 4, 0 - 22 / 0X
````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````

End 4 - 64" / 68# Hoyt+Tradtech / Widow Maker Smash Carbon Arrows:

6, 6, 6, 6, 6, - 24 / 3X

````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Total Score - 90 / 3X
````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````

It proved to be a bit more difficult than I anticipated.

BUT, I still had fun doing it !

Rick

Well it was so windy up here in CO today, I had to wait 'til almost dark to shoot! Shot the Bear Montana (my hunting rig for this season) and a couple of woodies. Shot 10 ends of 2 arrows and scored an 88 w/3x's. So pretty happy w/ that. And no misses for a change! Enjoyed the shoot, we need to do this more often! I then changed to my new to me Wing Slimline and shot an 86 w/2x's, so consistent anyway. Wyatt
