Work has been crazy busy this summer. Getting ready to head out the door pouring concrete curb, nighshift in somerset PA.

Hung a trail cam this morning...muggy

Sitting here eating looking at fall pics on the computer...All areas I frequent and hunt...talk about putting an ache in your chest!

Lord willing in a few weeks i'll be carrying my bow down this trail...I have a DMAP tag for the area.

ShadeHaven, Only been there once, and not for real long, just long enough to hike down into it (Pine Cr) and back, but it sure looked like great places to hunt. Remote and vast, and kinda steep in places. But accessible due to the run next to the river. I'd go again.

Shade, Me too. There are more deer now than in the past, and a lot of turkeys too believe it or not. Its gorgeous during Sept and early Oct., but leaves drop earlier than here in the Mohawk Valley, and hunting is more difficult, which is a draw for guys like you. If I had more time, I'd be there more often too. I want to find a moose shed up there sometime, and take a nice mountain buck, and bear. Maybe this year - may try to get up there more. This is from the top of Bald Mt., a little short hike just out of Old Forge. But nice views of the Chain Lakes. Lots and lots of deer (and bear) in this general area (esp. in town once season opens..) :)

Its funny every year about this time My body can sense fall right around the corner, despite the fact that Mid Aug can be pretty warm.

Trapper....The "Dacks" are an incredible place although PA has some truly beautiful and rugged places and lots of public land.

Shade, I was born and raised in the Adirondacks and there's no place I'd rather hunt. Way fewer deer than we have here in the central part of NY, but a way different experience, too. I don't get up there as much as I'd like these days, but I'm usually able make a few two or three day trips each year. I used to spend a week, sometimes two, camping up there every year. Good times!

From our front yard looking across road to fields where I hunt. The 'gem' spot is just to the left, within a couple hundred yards from the house. But it goes on for another two miles, and four or five miles to the right - its about 7 or 8 sections of county land, not posted. True timbered wilderness and swamps back behind those fields.
