Hey all,

I've got a nagging problem on my Morrison 17" Aluminum ILF rig with SHORT limbs. It's the first time I've had this problem in the several ILF rigs that I've had and could not get it stopped. Frankly, it's about to drive me NUTSO....

On the limb bolts you have a round tube that is about 3/4" long that fits in the notch at the end of the ILF limbs. My guess is that it's there to make sure the notch is centered on the bolt, and remains that way.

Well I am noticing that when I shoot I will hear a rattle and then when I shake my bow to try and localize the rattle, it will be on either end at the location of these metal tubes. One or the other is moving up and down the bolt a bit and rattling. I have put teflon tape on the threads of the limb screw and that hasn't worked to stop it from moving up and down.

I'm about to take the tube completely off of both ends and see if it effects limb alignment and if it doesn't, leave the metal tubs OFF permanently. If I can't come up with a solution to get them to stop moving up and down causing the rattle, that's about the only thing I know to do.

Anyone else have this problem and found a way to get it stopped?

Thanks Larry

I have waxed the bolts and then put on the collars and that stopped my noise problems

Hawkeye on ebay also sells threaded bushings on ebay for $6 shipped. But a threaded bushing will only help if you limb bolts are threaded all the way. If they are not he and lancaster sells the bolt and bushing together.

I replaced mine with threaded bushings..took care of the rattle. Randy
