When I bought all that used archery stuff last week, an oldtime strap-on Kwikee Kwiver came with the old Bear Grizzly. I really like its light weight and decided to use it. It doesn't have a broadhead hood and of course I wouldn't dare tote it around in the woods with the broadheads exposed. I happened to look in the medicine cabinet and found an old bottle of eye drops. It fit over a Zwicky perfectly and I decided to experiment with it by stabbing into solid objects and banging it around. The bottle turned out to be tougher than it looked. No matter what I did, I couldn't force the broadhead to poke or cut through the plastic. A visit to the Walmart pharmacy for a couple more bottles and some camo paint, and it's off to the woods. I know some of you are shouting at your computer screens right now, but why not try the experiment yourself? If you can prove this to be unsafe, I'll ditch the project before it goes any farther.

Nice idea-- just because something is free doesnt make it a bad idea. Goes along w trad--being creative, meanwhile the wheelie guys empty their pockets on commercially pushed gimicks, like broadheads that dont penetrate-- anyway-- good idea.

Fiddler, you can still buy the hoods for those quivers. And if you cover them with leather they make a pretty nice looking quiver.

Sitting on my tailgate waiting for my son in law to come out of the woods. A guy who I had seen before, walked by with white pill bottles on every arrow in his quiver. WhenI asked what they were for he said, Broadheads covers!

Neat Idea. Someone school me on why you need to cover the broadheads? Whats wrong with two grips?

Great idea Fiddler! I always liked making things myself over buying them anyway and the older I get, the more satisfaction I get out of it.

For your safety it's a good idea to cover the broadheads. Also keeps the heads getting hit wit stuff while your moving around while hunting.

The last time I used one I cut a piece of foam the approximate shape of a quiver and mounted one Arrow to hold it in. With that Arrow mounted on the quiver the other arrows went into place. Not the best solution but it worked

I like your idea Fiddler. Those exposed quivers scared the heck out of me back in the day. Yours is a simple solution to safety. Let us know how they work out in the real world.

Reminds me of the guy I saw with a quiver full of feather fletched arrows, fletching all covered individually by baby bottle liners and rubber bands!

I clearly remember the old time Kwikee without a hood. I was just too dumb to know any better. I wish I still had it as a conversation piece with younger archers.
