Hey Guys - been watching this on Flea Bay ... any guesses as to what this is ~ whether it's production bow or homemade? Says it unmarked. 62-1/2" length unstrung. Thanks, Beacon (Sorry the PiX quality is poor.)

Not sure but it's sculpted like a Wing Presentation. Draw weight?

I've seen it, and it's not a Wing design. It is closer to a Howatt design, and I believe it has wedges in the limb tips rather than overlays...which would have helped you here to get more suggestions. Based on the limb tip style alone takes away just about any manufactured bow except Carroll's and Gene Louthan's models. It could be one of Gene's models, or could be home made. It looks well done..and ironically the same basic length as the Howatt Hunter, so I would look at that end of the country.

can't really see it in picture but has some cool twist built in to lower section of handle that's why i did not recognize it.has skinny tips, long in length ,I beam riser ,wow, my luck it will be 25#s lol beacon

so another silly question, they say the unstrung length is 62-1/2" if you add 4" to it strung up would that make it 66-1/2" AMO? That would not make sense. Beacon

It would be 62 amo. Amo doesnt go by half inches. String length would be 59".

Sorry forgot to add ,amo is string length. 62" amo bow is one made to achieve manufacturers brace with a 62 amo string which would be 59 inches long.

ok my bow unstrung is 58" tip to tip but it is marked 64" amo so if this bow is 62-1/2 unstrung what would you call it 68-69-? beacon

Lol,62 amo since amo lengths are marked in full inches. Amo bows are made to use a string 3 inches shorter than the bow. Well actually the bow length is made to fit the string not th other way around. Not all 62 amo bows are exactly the same length from one brand to the next but all 62 amo strings are identicle lengths. If your bow is 58" tip to tip following the contours it's mismarked.

How are you measuring the length of your bow. It should be measured straight across the belly, string nock to string nock. See Marvin Long on bowhunting.net: How to measure a bowstring the correct way. bvd

Yep measure across th belly unstrung and follow the contours of the recurves to the nocks. The belly is the side facing you as you shoot.

There's an old trick from the sixtys if you have no clue of string length to get you close. No this does NOT work on longbows or semi reserves but will get you close enough on full working recurves. Lay the bow down Ang measure from nock to nock in a straight line on the back of the bow. That's the side facing away from you when shooting. Do NOT follow contours but straight from nock to nock and it' get you within a 1/4th inches to 3/iths.
