I never in my 70 years have found anything good at a garage sale till now. Bear Kodiak Grayling bow. Marked 11AD111 60" 45#. Rosewood? riser, looks kinda like army green colored glass. Coin is silver colored, but may have been painted black. good shape no twists or cracks. Guessing a 61 or 61 bow? not a Bear expert. No use for it but best find so far. Also came with a Bear cub 60" 35#. Worth bragging on?

Yes, worth bragging about! I'm in the market for a '59-'62 Kodiak - been looking for awhile. Let me know if you decide to sell it!

Nice find, whatever you paid for it. I'm always looking for something like that, but the finding has been poor. Congrats!

Glass on the '62 was Arctic Gray. One with green glass would be an odd duck.
BTW, that's one of Bear's best looking and best performing recurve.

It's a '62 with gray glass. The finish has yellowed so it gives the appearance of greenish glass.

Found a spare string that fit, bottom limb has slight twist. Marked at 45# feels heavier than that. Old shoulder injury flared right up. Looks like this one will have to go down the road. PM if you would like to make an offer. Rather not ship, anyone in the San Antonio area?

What you paid has no bearing on value might be worth 10 times or half. If I find a diamond I'm not giving it way for nothing just because I paid nothing ,lol.

One thing people often forget about at least some of the 1962 bows is that Bear was using the 3M Scotchply glass that year. It truly was some of the best bow glass ever.

That's a home run! Really nice find! The good ones are still out there. What you paid for it is neither here nor there. It's all about timing and yours was spot on, Good for you. I hope you get a decent finders fee for it.
