Would just like to know what color preference you like best between red and green for hunting? Do not want to get into any debates on the use of, or the need of, etc. Color preference only please,and why.

I don't hunt in the evenings, only morning hunts. I don't want to track blood at night anymore. That's just me. JF

If I may join in te discussion, what brands work well? I tried a couple in the past that we're unreliable. A wrap of reflective tape has worked well. Would like to again try a lighted nock.

Saw these in Cabela's in New Brunswick. Kinda pricey so I left 'em. I'd use green over red.

I use the Nockturnal brand with zero issues. Have never had one not work.Have only used red, but questioning myself on color choice. Most of my hunting is in the morning, so it is a visual aid to help me see where my arrow hit, more so than for recovery purposes.

I use nockturnals as well.
Before I shot traditional, I used green. I honestly found them hard to see during light even from 20 yards. Espically early season where everything is well... green!
Red is more all purpose. I can see it in all lighting and seasonal conditions to make it stand out. I've been able to see a red nock from 60 to 70 yards out from my treestand. At that point its hard to see, even the thermals in the air are enough to make it move and flicker that particular night.
If I had no ties to a particulat color: I would honestly try pink. Would really stand out bo matter the season. I would think it'd be pretty bright too. Blue would be good except I remember a Deer and Deer Hunting article saying that deer see blue very well, so I wouldn't want to prompt arrow ducking.

Always used the green Nockturnals, but the new red/green strobe light model is very intriguing. I don't worry too much about the 'ethics' issue of using them. I will not bear hunt here in Minnesota without one. I feel that doing everything in your power to aid in animal recovery is the only 'ethics' choice, so both my wife and I keep them on the end of our arrows.

Hoosier, I doubt a deer is going to see a nock coming at him...lit or not. Scientists do not know what deer see...they only say the eye makeup would likely allow them to see shades on the violet end of the spectrum so they can possibly see blues and some UV. No one knows how deer perceive those colors. I've taken deer at very close range while I was wearing denim jeans, so count me as a skeptic on their perception of color. Motion is what they notice.

I've used green for years but red seems better to my eyes at night for pigs. Lightning bugs are green.

Never shot luminock. Do shoot pistol with fiber optic sights. Green much preferred over red. fwiw

The human eye sees green best. It's the last color we lose as light fades. Ever notice those green laser pointers look brighter than the red?
Anyway I use green.

I posted this before, but it didnt stick.
In low light for my eyes, orange gets fuzzy and red gets very fuzzy! Yellow and green stay clear and crisp.
The 3 pack of Nockturnals cost $21 shipped. Looking forward to trying them. Thanks for the suggestions.

When I decided to try them the only color available at my local store was red. I have the Nocturnal brand and see the red well. But I would like to try some other colors just to experiment. My vision has changed and fletching and nock colors I used to see well in low light aren't as easy to see anymore.

On the Nocturnal I put a piece of tape over the hole.If you shoot through an animal it will fill up with blood. I've tried to wash the blood out with hot water but never can get all out. The blood makes the switch stick sometimes.
