Already got mine. Wow, that's one heck of an increase. Especially when you consider a lifetime pass for a senior has a reduced number of years to be used. :)

Terry, it's 62. If one in the car has the pass, the whole car gets in. I've had mine for quite awhile now and it paid off in the first year we had it.

Good tip oldgoat!
It's for US citizens and permanent residents of age 62 or older.
A park ranger gave me the info when I entered the Rainier National Park a few years ago, so I bought mine right on the spot and have used it many times when entering parks.

"The Senior Pass to national parks cannot be purchased by mail or online. It must be purchased in person at a federal area where entrance fees are charged, or at regional offices of the National Park Service, the U.S. Forest Service or the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Proof of age, such as a valid driver's license, is required at the time you purchase your senior pass.
For more information about the National Parks Lifetime Senior Pass, call the National Park Service at 1-888-ASK-USGS."

Guys, you can order them online. It's right there at your fingertips...do a search. That said, it will take longer..up to possibly twelve weeks. They have to allow time for people who want to beat the August 28th timeline. If your order is postmarked before that date...you get it for ten bucks.
Best way, if you live relatively close to a National Park, or other National Recreation Area that charges entry fees, you can buy them right at the counter. Do a google search to find if there is one near you.

Dang, I turn 62 on Jan. 4 '18, gonna miss it by 4 mos. Any way to get one before they go up anyway maybe? That said, the least visited National Park is right down the road a mile from here, Fort Stanwix National Monument, the site of the most important victory in the Revolutionary War.

Great benefit for seniors. Once purchased you get free entrance fees to national parks and 1/2 off of federal campgrounds- for your lifetime or until you lose the pass. I believe the new passes available in Oct. are not only quite a bit more expensive, they are also only good for one year.

I just spent about 30 min. getting my order in on line. Must be a busy place, government store, kept getting the link not found message. Kept at it and finally got it to accept my order. Then in order to complete your order you need to send a picture of your ID like a drivers license. It will upload a picture just like this site does. In other words mobile device like my IPAD.Then you get the final confirm in email with your receipt. No PayPal. Want to thank oldgoat for the heads up.

Great Deal! Most of the time, you have to show your ID along with your Senior Pass when entering the National Park. Rangers will usually ask to see your ID and compare it against the name signature on the back of the pass. That pretty much means you won't be able to 'loan' it to someone else so that they can get in the park free. FYI

It's not meant to loan. At $10.00 anyone 62 or over can get one. Yes, many places want to see the your ID. No problem with that for us. My brother has one of his own as well so whoever is driving just uses their card. Normally if we are close to one we get our DL out and give it to the person at the entry.

Kind of different from the lifetime pass the thread started with but, I think the federal waterfowl stamp is good for the stamp year as a national park pass for the year. So if you are waterfowl hunting anyway you can kill two birds with one stone( yes pun intended). Can anyone else confirm this?
