This probably seems like a dumb question to most members but please bear with me.
After many years of making and shooting fiberglass, aluminum and wood arrows, I recently acquired some carbon shafts and wondered what Is the best glue for fletching them.

Saunders NPV....the best I have found....works easily and dries quickly. Better than Fletchtite, gorilla instant glue..

I've used it all, fletching tape is my favorite. Been out for a while and have been using cheap (1.49 for 4 pack @ Wally World) super glue. Working well.

Goat tuff is all I've used but I just ordered some fletch tape after seeing how much time it saves and how well it works.

Saunders NPV. Used to use Fletch Tite but after use the glue would dry in the applicator tip necessitating removal before re-using. Pain in the arse. The NPV doesn't dry and is ready for use each and every time. Seems to hold really well too.

I've used Fletch-tite, super glue, gel super glues, a few other random archery specific glues and tape. Until now, all my fetching has been on carbon and all adhesives have performed as the should. There doesn't seem to be the compatibility issues that you can have with wood finishes.
Proper prep and cleaning seems to be the main factor in good adhesion. Often times when people are having a hard time with getting fetching to stick they are using a cleaner/solvent that contains oil. With all that, I now only use tape. Much faster and clean up is a breeze. Getting the residue of some of the glues off the shafts can be a real challenge. Tape is more expensive, but if you put any value on your time, it's a wash.

Should have said "Jim uses hot melt for inserts..." Wish I hadn't used epoxy for that. I like tape for fletching.

I use platinum fletch- tite for the feathers & blue hot melt for the inserts. You can find the hot melt @ 3rivers or lost nation.

Saunders NVP is heads-above many of the others for good hold and goes further than most cyanoacrylate glues and much cheaper. I use it on everything except wood and those get Duco.

I just learned of a new glue that appears to work really well for fletching and I am using it on Carbons right now. Only time will tell how well it holds but it does give a strong bond and it is a flexible when cured. Downside is that it has a strong smell so needs ventilation.
E6000
Found at homedepot, usually not many left and gets great reviews. Check it out.

Thanks for all this info.
I always have Duco on hand cause I've been fletching wood for so long. I'm going to try the Duco and see how it works.

Davesea, I tried that stuff. It failed for me. Feathers popped off arrows upon realese. This was on bare carbon scrubbed with Acetone and pad. These days I use Saunders NPV glue. I like it so much I just did an order for a pint! I may not live long enough to use it up but the pint can saves considerable money over 16 tubes at $6.25 a tube. I have a bottle with a fine nozzle already. I plan on putting what is in can in a "food saver" bag and sucking out the air.

I have been using the original FletchTite and the Titanium Plus and they both work fine for my GT and Eastin Epic shafts. I did recently switch to some of the Saunders NPV and it seems to bond faster with less bubbling. I like it a little better so far.

M60Gunner when did you try the E6000? apparently it has a new formula. I typically prefer fletch tape but thought I would try. Will report back with my experience but good to know someone else tried it.

Fletch tape, love it. Never had a problem. Trying glue Big Jim recommends for inserts. Hoping for the best.
