I wish he. You guys want to warn of a scammer you would list their handle. There are a few BW for sale and from guys who have a long history on the wall, so who are you claiming is the scammer. Do everyone a favor and list the scammers handle they are using.

They know he's a scammer cause in his other listing he gave the serial number and the true owner who had it on eBay was a leatherwall regular.

Also watch out for a guy named "boww". He is at it again. Don't text these guys pictures to their phone because now they have your phone number. They can sell that info to other scumbags that want to do identity theft.

This number will text you also. He wants to send a money order and then have "someone" pick it up. I accused him of being a scammer and ended that conversation.

They can click your handle and get your name and state where you are. Then, if you text them pics, now they have your phone. You'd be surprised at what hackers will pay for that information.

One more thing. Just because the check clears your bank doesnt mean it cleared his. When it turns out to be fake your bank takes the funds they gave you back.

Wow. That is really sorry. Sometimes it seems the world is going to H$$L in a hand basket. What a shame. This is a fantastic resource, but it is hard to know what/who is legit and what/who is not. I am relatively new here, but I did some trading/selling on TradGang before it went sponsor only. Is there a place here that lists known scammers, so we newbies would know who to stay away from? TradGang did it that way. I cannot swear it worked out for them......but at least it was some sense of security.

These types of scams are not of the local PD jurisdiction. The scam involves the mail. Appropriate jurisdiction goes to the US Postal Inspector. That's just the simple version. Because if the USPI actually were able to follow through then it go over to a federal investigative agency, which due to the fact that many of these scammers are in Lagos, Nigeria, then to some joint task force that deals with that stuff. The problem is that in many third world countries these scams and other vices are a way of life to get by. Therefore, even in the successful prosecution of one or a bunch, for everyone that gets arrested there are many more to fill such shoes.

It's not a lot of trouble for them, it's what they do for a living; they steal from others. If only one of their scams works out of a hundred, they are still ahead of the game. It apparently still works even though it is an old scheme relative to the internet. Law enforcement has bigger fish to fry than the day by day scammer, and most aren't in this country anyway. It's still a case of 'let the buyer/seller beware' to anyone thinking of doing business on the net to unknown entities.
