I have wanted to build a laminated bow since 2012 when I first got into traditional archery.

Anyone who knows me well knows I don't do things for the half so why would bow building be any different?

I finally decided to go all out and build myself a shop in the basement so I did just that in March. I read things on here, talked to friends and read stuff online to help me get started.

My friend Jimmy of Mahantango custom bows gave me a lot of help. He even took my limb material and tapered them for me.

After my shop I bought a simple scroll saw and a disc/belt sander then built my form and a heat box.

Some of you on here gave me help with things and I thank you for that, Shade Mt, Jeff D and bmanbowyer and a few others. Thanks for the advice.

I just finished my bow today with three costs of dull clear. I will post pics of the process.

I intend to build bows for sale now, I am looking forward to this side business.

Check out my first bow. SHADEHAVEN (SHADE mountain is where I hunt and my daughter's middle name is haven) Model name of this firm and my own design is the Timberstick. This bow I made 62". Limbs and main riser Black walnut with hard maple core. African sapele is the riser fade out piece, overlay and tips.

Looks good. If you've got Jimmy Martin in your corner, you'll do alright. He's one of the best.
