Here are some pics I promised. Fast bow. Dead silent. Almost shoots itself. Was going to be a 3D bow. Now it will be a 3D and hunting bow.

Plain walnut riser from wood I supplied. Stabilcore limb lams over triple bamboo. Jack knows how to build a longbow.

Dave, I can see what you like about his bows.

Another Kempf masterpiece. Beautiful bow Dave, good luck with it. I'm really loving those new limbs I got from Jack with the carbon in them. Makes my Stealth smoother, sweeter and just as quick.

When one looks at the details on one of Jack's bows you can see the effects of many years of evolution. Jack told me he puts the antler thumb rest on all of these bows. It is placed for an utterly repeatable and comfortable grip. He shapes the backside of the grip as much as the belly side with nicely curved surfaces, unlike many bows that are left rather blocky. And his tips are tiny and a work of art helping to make the bow faster I believe. The Stabilcore both looks nice and performs well. I could not be happier with the bow. Glue lines are as good as it gets. And I was impressed to see 3 bamboo lams instead of the more common 2. It appears that Jack also tapers at least one of those lams, a complex operation that adds an additional touch of class along with a bit of performance.

Jack is 85 and still very sharp. I just enjoy sitting and talking with him.

I am going to bring this thread back up for a couple of people who want to see a pic of the bow. The love affair continues. Amazing how owning a lot of bows eventually leads one to know what they want. Maybe a bit long for hunting but it will hunt with me as well as be my 3D bow. Gonna shoot at some gophers with it this weekend.

Time to bring this one back again. Hope to have some gopher hunt pics later this afternoon. I usually manage to kill one of those little string jumpers a year. Already got one earlier in the week so maybe this will be my year for multiple kills.

Have a good time Dave, break that bow in right. Love my 58" Kempf longbow.

My friends did not show up so the gopher hunt is postponed. I did play around a bit on my own but it is both windy and hot today, two things that tend to keep those little critters in their burrows. I take most of my shots at really long range just to keep my form sharp.

That is a deadly-looking bow! Gophers and woodchucks really hate it when you drill them fro 50+ yards.
