Got all the old cool embroidered patches off Jack Starr, he was in Archery back in the 60's till he had shoulder problems. He got Louie Armbruster (Zebra Longbows) to move to this area long ago. Jack has the same birthday as Fred Bear.

Last week Jack had me over to his house and gave me this bow, with a nice case, aluminum target arrows and some other things that were in the case.

Some other goodies in the case, his wife's arm guard, their shooting gloves, old score cards and some target faces. Really neat to hear his stories, check out the equipment and make a connect to the past.

Beautiful, classic target bow from the 60's. Too bad that those aren't popular anymore. That will make a great shooter for you as well. That's a hunk of Rosewood right there.

That's a nice looking bow. Are the arrows the old Swift or 24srtx shafts?

There is a little limb twist, going to get that worked out. Make a new string, polish it up some and recondition the arrows. Might have to use it in the Senior Olympics. Jack just turned 90 this last March.

MAN! Does that take me back! You have great friends! I can't remember if my first Easton Aluminums were 24SRTX or maybe XX75. Get that BOW all set up and let's see HER SHOOT!

We handled the Sovereign line back in the 60's. Great shooting bows. You have some real treasures there.

Jack and my father were friends back in the 1960s. They were in the same archery club and both part or an exhibition shooting team called the Centars that performed at sport shows and for scout groups, etc.... They both even went to the national field archery tournament in Arkansas one year. I've heard quite a few stories over the years. I recall one about Jack and his brother Don flipping dads canoe while out carp shooting. Love all those old hunting and fishing stories! I've heard stories about them hanging out in Louie Armbrusters basement, where he made his bows. Dad still has his Lord Sovereign too. What a small world!

Very cool. I inherited a similar bow with all the goodies from my wife's late grandfather.

Hearing about bow stuff history and giftings like this are why I look forward to each potential day in Archery.

Each new day is like an arrow in flight....
